Vehicle Detail
The car GM should have built. Ebay won't allow links but the car was featured in Pontiac high performance June 03 issue, great article on how the car came to be- highly recommended reading you can find it on line. Well known in the Poncho world, created and built by a Pontiac National restoration judge. It was built to exact 71 Judge specs- round port 455 built to 471 with forged internals, factory 71 hood/fenders, T37 front end, 455 callouts, GTO door panels etc etc. The previous owner installed Wilwood 4 wheel discs and Hotchkiss suspension, ride height is about an inch lower than stock and the stance is superb. Original parchment interior( not repro) is in amazing condition, has the factory 8 track which is not operable but looks the part. It's an older restoration, but is in excellent driver condition no dings, dents, drips and always draws a crowd at car shows. The car is a blast to drive and gets thumbs up everywhere,i have enjoyed it for the last few years but it's time for something new. Clear CA title and smog exempt, can help with shipping, questions welcome. On Oct-30-14 at 21:23:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to answer a few questions: The condition of the car is solid # 2 driver, not a lawn ornament but very respectable for a ten+ year old restoration. Body is very clean, no dents and one 2" scratch on the roof, bumper is ding free and chrome is nice. Glass and brightwork are nice, it could use a new ram air decal on the driver side snorkel(it's not as bad as in the pic) rest of the graphics are in great condition. No rust, original interior is in fantastic shape, everything works as it should, including the power rear window, excluding the 8 track which eats tapes(just like back in the day)and the period AM radio works but could use tuning. Mechanically the car is tight, tracks straight and drives great, it pings under full throttle due to our 91 octane here, I refuse to put ten dollar a gallon race fuel in it because I just putt it to shows with my kids in it a few times a year The parking brake cable just broke, I ordered a new one and will have it installed before sale. I put a very modest reserve on it, figure it will stand on it's own and I will not end auction early. My # is 310-666-7156 for any more questions and yes inspections are welcome but the clock is ticking. Thanks Mark On Nov-01-14 at 16:01:42 PDT, seller added the following information: One last note, just realized the plate on the car is NOT the in the system-it's a period 71 blue base I had on for a show and forgot to remove before taking these photos. It is however plated with the standard reflectorized CA one's and has current registration, clear pink in my name. Reserve has been met, someone is going to get a pretty cool and unique ride. It's a crackup watching people walk right past the six figure cars at shows and take slow circles around it with confused looks! You either get Long Roofs, or you don't. With going on nine thousand views and nearly 500 people watching the auction, seems a lot of folks do. It certainly ticked all my boxes, if the new owner has half the fun I have has with it will be worth every penny to them.
