Original SO42 camper with 1600cc GEX 1600DP crate engine,Rancho rebuilt transmission and reduction gears.all brake lines replaced-metal and rubber.New shocks,brake shoes ,wheel cylinders.Engine was broke in on a engine stand,the heads were re-torqued,then installed in the Bus which has been driven 25miles.Runs great with 009 dist. and New 34pcit3 carburetor.The Bus has a new SACHS clutch,disc and throw-out bearing.Mechanically excellent with very solid frame and body.The bus was painted blue and white 24yrs. ago by a body shop then repainted with Rustolium Hunter Green/light grey 5yrs. ago by a painter friend of mine. Looks good for what it is-but this Bus would look really good with a nice L87 Pearl White paint job.The front of the Bus has a dent low on the nose that was fixed 24yrs. ago by the bodyshop that painted it .Don't know what it looks like under the paint but it can't be to bad because the inside of nose panel is OK. The right rear corner has some bubbles under the paint and a german corner sheetmetal is included.the floor in rear is solid with no holes.the frame and outriggers are all solid and, rust -free.The windshield is siliconed in ,but the frame is OK and I have new WC Metric windshield rubber.Didn't want to install till I got a real paint job.The front doors need weatherstripping and door panels ,but are rust free All glass is orig. German.The canvas top was replaced 5yrs. ago and is still in good shape. The seats are original with no rips and good springs.passenger seat has a stain on upper corner of the back.The Z-bed works and there are no rips on the original cushions.All camper windows work and have the screens,also have 2 factory storm windows.All orig. locks and keys. The roof and rain gutters are in nice shape.I've never done any work on the front end,but it drives straight and smooth.KYB on the front-BOGE on the back.The ice box/sink is missing but all other camper parts are there---spice rack,fold up table on door and side step. Exhaust header touches rear apron and heats up so I have removed it [needs correct exhaust]-has J pipes installed and comes with 1 Danish heater box[needs 1 more ] The tail lights are rare HELLA European lenses-comes with Red US lenses also. All the windows have the curtain rods but I only have 1 orig. curtain to use as a pattern for new ones.The wood and cabnets are in good shape.This Bus is in amazing shape for 48 years old.I am 60years old and was injured 3yrs. ago and am unable to finnish this project or to be able to use it for camping like it should be. Wheels and hub caps are orig. and comes with 1 NOS wheel ,never mounted.The tires have lots of tread but are old ,and should be replaced before hitting the road for a trip., I will be adding more pictures of the nice underbody when it stops raining here. Bus is located 9miles from interstate 95and25miles to the port of Baltimore
