1969 Dodge D100 NO RESERVE - 75 PHOTOS Hi, thanks for checking out "Melvie"(Melvin) my 1969 Dodge D100 pickup. This truck is in amazing condition, it was sold new at Anaconda Chrysler Center, in Anaconda, Montana. This is a 2 owner truck, stayed in Anaconda all of its life, up until I bought the truck in April, 2013. This truck, I truly believe has 47,971 miles on it, I got it from the 2nd owners, they bought it in 1998, drove it for a year and parked it in their family barn, up until 2013. They told me that it had 47K on it as well, there is no documentation of miles, but after being around the truck, I know it to be true, it is an amazing time capsule. With that said, the 47K that is on it, it was used like a truck in general, so it does have chips and scratches on it, the paint is worn, it was really faded when I got it, and had a canopy which saved the original bed. We polished the original paint, and it totally came out with a nice shine. The original owner bought it in 1969, and really wanted a 318 in it, but they did not have any on the lot. So a few years after he bought it, he had Anaconda Chrysler, put in a used 1970 318 engine in it. This truck is what I would call a True Survivor, it has had a few upgrades since I have had it, very subtle ones. I had the seat completely redone, it was in decent shape, but it had some splits in the seats, I wanted it to be nice, something I could take my wife out in and enjoy it, so I had it done to match the truck, the blue and white theme, I also had the door panels, refinished to match the seats. I put the white walls, on it, painted the rims, and put on Mopar caps and trim rings, when I got it. I Repainted the rear bumper, and mirrors. The grill and front bumper are original, I wanted to show the originality so I did not have them painted yet. The condition of this truck is amazing, and it should be preserved as much as possible, but the choice is up to you, it is an open canvas. The body on this truck is amazing. If you spend some time looking at the pictures, you will see some that were taken inside of the fenders, of the original paint, I cleaned some of the inner wells, and so you could see the original paint. The faded paint when waxed turns into the beautiful blue it original was from the factory. There is no BONDO on this truck, it is the Original Blue Paint that was sprayed on it from 1969 at the Dodge Factory. It has plenty of chips and scratches on it. There is some rub threw, on the roof and a little on the hood, and a little bit on some fender edges and door edges. There was a little wrinkle at the bottom of the drivers fender and the door, you can see it in the pictures. This truck is very solid and amazing. The only rust, I have seen on the truck, is at the bottom of the passenger rocker, a few spots, were it has came through a little, and cracked. There is a few tiny spots on the inners cowl, under the truck, but very minor, not bad enough that I would have it fixed or anything. The under carriage is amazing, the original wood in the truck is in great shape for its age. It does have a little wear, but very solid. I would strip the bed, and repaint the floor, or maybe go as far, and strip the wood and have it stained for a nice touch. The little reflectors on the side of the truck, were installed when new, they have the Chrysler emblem on them. Not sure when the side marker lights upfront were installed, but they do work. I do still have the red Gas can that went on the stepside as well if you want it. The canopy that was on the truck is gone now, you will see it in the photos when we got the truck. Overall, it has an amazing original body, many people would die to have a truck in this condition, these type of vehicles can only be Original Once, so I would try my best to keep the original paint just like it is and preserve it. The interior is in great shape. Original floor mat shows some age to it, but it shows the originally. Also look at the brake and clutch pedal not all worn out. The dash pad has no cracks in it, even the original radio delete plate still in the truck. The headliner, is in great shape, original owner installed a fan as well, and it still works. All the interior lights work, the gauges work as well. I had the original seat redone, had a few splits, padding was very nice, but wanted to tutone it like the outside of the truck, and had the door panels refinished as well, to match. The steering wheel is in amazing condition, no cracks or wear. The door glass rolls up and down very nice. The front windshield has one little chip in the center. The heater works inside as well. This is a NON Smoker vehicle as well.Mechanically it is in great shape. The engine as I mentioned before, is a 1970 318, the original owner when he bought the truck, wanted to upgrade to a V8, since they did not have any trucks on the lot like this. So a few years later he had them install this 1970 engine. The engine is in good shape, it runs very smooth and nice. It does have a minor lifter tick, it has been slowly going away, since we have been driving it around lately. It might have a sticky lifter, nothing really to me that concerns me, the truck had been parked from 16 years, so I am very happy with the way it runs. It runs nice and smooth, does not burn any oil, and does not blow smoke, very quiet smooth running little truck. It had leaky valve cover gaskets, so I took them off, and while I was at it, restored, the valve covers and air cleaner as well. Took a picture of the rockers as well, and they are super clean. This is a very good engine. Cooling system is working good, no major current engine leaks, just old seepage, no coolant leaks. The transmission is original, clutch feels good, no slipping. When you take off, there is a tiny bit of chatter, not major, I might need to learn how to drive as well, lol. The transmission does shift nice and smooth, and feels good. The brakes work good, they do not pull. The master cylinder I am going to replace on the truck, it fades just a little bit, so it will have a new one on it. Mechanically it is in great shape for a vintage truck. This is a NO RESERVE, starting bid at $19.69, yes NO RESERVE, top bid gets it. Give me a Call if you have questions! *U.S. and International bidders welcome as long as your friendly! This is the original seat, in very good shape, I did have it recovered though, it looks very nice, and feels even better. Here it is in Anaconda, Montana. It had been in the barn since 1999, this is the day it was picked up, and brought to Oregon. I have the gas can still for the truck, if you want it you can have it. Notice it is sporting Buick hubcaps. It is amazing, what a coat of wax will do, and taking off the oxidation. This is the Original Paint from 1969, never repainted. Grill and bumper are original paint as well, I was going to repaint them like the rear bumper, but wanted to keep them original. They would look sharp painted though. There are lots of rock chips on grill and bumper has touch up paint on the edges and chips. I just so happen to have a 1969 Montana Lic. Plate, in my collection. I am keeping this plate with me, I took it to a little show recently and sported original lic. plates. It come with the Montana Big Sky, plates that were on it when we got it. Also notice the Anaconda Chrysler original sticker under the DODGE. Those little round reflectors, are Mopar, put on it when new. Melvin is really a cute little truck. He will make someone a very cool cruiser, shop truck, vintage camp trailer hauler, you name it, he can do it. Amazing steering wheel for this age of truck. Original Radio block off plate, radio delete. Original headliner, in great shape. All the gauges work, Odometer reads, 44,971. Original Marking under the hood. I took off the valve covers, they were leaking, so wanted to put new gaskets on it. Rockers are really nice looking, very clean inside. I went ahead as you can see and repainted the valve covers, top of radiator, and the aircleaner, it deserved a little upgrade, had them off so why not. 1970 318 V8. Montana Title. We were moving it around for pictures, love this shot for some reason, so entered it, give it good perspective with a driver behind the wheel. This bead is amazing, for being original. Wood is very solid as you will see underneath, hard to find original bed like this. A little patina, showing rock chips, and paint on the edges wearing off. Amazing floors for a Dodge. Original bed, super clean. 3.55 rearend. Muffler put on in Montana back in the day. Cleaned some of the dirt off the back of the cab, original paint. Inside the passenger side fender, again cleaned some dirt off. Inside the drivers apron, a good detail underneath would be great to show all the paint. Battery box is behind this area, clean. Original Factory numbers inside the fenders. Drivers side numbers on inner fender, amazing they are there, but not really with 44K original miles. The original owner lived on a dusty gravel road, which shows on the trucks outer paint, and undercarriage. Area were I cleaned the firewall to expose the original blue. Passenger side rocker, has a few rust holes, this is about the only thing I would fix on this truck when it comes to paint, fix it and spot paint it, to protect the truck. This is gravel spray from the original owner living on a gravel dusty road. Paint getting thin on the roof. The Dodge across the back, does have some touch up on it, were paint came off a little. Original Sticker from the Dealer. Not sure when these side markers entered the picture. The little round ones are Mopar. Little tag on the passenger side of the bed. Lights work, I have the drivers turn signal on in this picture and passenger in the next. Reverse lights work and taillights. Mopar Reflectors, had no idea they made these.
