Vehicle Detail

1967 BMW 2000 Neue Klasse The original sport luxury sedan This BMW is ready for a complete restoration. I contacted BMW archives and based on the VIN, this is what they could tell me. The manufacture date was 10-24-1966 (1967 model year), delivered to BMW dealer Wogatzke in Kaiserlautern, Germany and the original color is Caribe (blue) code 059. The odometer has rolled over at least once. The body panels are solid with several small dents including some in the roof. There is a crease on the driver's door from it opening into the front fender (door stop is broken). There is some surface rust, and some pin hole rust in the front valance. The floors have rusted thru in several spots, the left rear being the worst. That entire section will need to be replaced. The left rocker has rusted through and has been cut open. The door bottoms, rear shock towers and spare tire well are solid with surface rust only. There are holes in the trunk floor where they meet the rear of the wheel well. This appears to be from tire chain damage that has also rusted. The trunk lock has been drilled out due to a lost key (ignition key is present). It is missing the front kidney grille, the left rear door trim, the hood trim, the front bumperettes and the right rear door ashtray. There are three steel wheels, and two bottle caps. There are two hub caps and four trim rings, all are in poor condition. The bumpers have some dents and the chrome shows its age. The paint in the door jams and inside of the doors is in very good condition. You could get by without painting them if you stick with the original color. The interior is roached and will need everything redone. I think it is missing a lower section of the dash. The dash has cracks and the wood will need to be replaced. The headliner has tears, there is no carpet and the left rear door armrest is missing. There is an after market turn signal mounted to the column, so there is apparently some wiring issues there. The winshield has a dime size bullseye chip on the left side. The right rear window is missing and has a piece of plexiglass in its place. All the door seals need to be replaced. The engine runs but there is an oil leak in the head, over the #4 cylinder (The head is cracked and will need to be welded). This is the original engine with a serial number that matches the body tag VIN. The exhaust system is rusted out. The rear brake drums appear to have been turned and the shoes and wheel cylinders look new. The parking brake does work. The struts, shocks and suspension will all need to be gone through. There is no battery. This car has a clear CA title, in my name and is under non-op status (no back fees due).I know I spent a lot of time describing what is wrong with this car, but I just don't want to mislead anyone. This is a major project and not for the faint of heart! I've never shipped a car internationally but I'm willing to work with buyer to get it done. I am five hours from the Port of Oakland, CA. All shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility. I have more photos, and a video of the engine start up, just click on any picture in the description to access them. Let me know if there is an area you would like to see that is not pictured.
