Vehicle Detail

1969 Camaro Convertible. Original 230 6 Cylindar, 3 speed column shift manual trans (converted to floor shift). Garage stored since 1985. Engine appears to be seized from sitting and will likely need to be rebuilt. Back when this was a used car, someone replaced the right front fender and grill, put a pair of quarter skins on it and painted over the original Azure Turquoise paint, with the blue you see here. It was'nt the best job and none of the jams were done.. The car looks better in photographs than in person, but in spite of that, it is amazingly complete and original. This is a manual top car that has been converted to power, but without changing the top frame, which is different from a power top frame. The frame consequantly cracked in 2 places and was repaired, but should be replaced with a correct top frame. As is, the top does operate and goes up perfectly, but when putting it down, it needs a nudge as it lifts off the windshield. After that, it is fine. The interior is completely original and needs only a carpet, a dashpad and a repair to the seam in the drivers seat. All Cocktail shakers are in place. The floors have a couple of soft spots, but have never been repaired. The trunk floor and rear frame rails are near perfect. The dash is rusty at the base of the windshield as usual. Now I know 98% of you guys would yank the 6 and the 3 speed out the minute you got this thing home, but I have to advise you to think a bit before you do. First of all, if this engine was rebuilt or replaced, and you replaced the wheel cylinders and master cylinder, you could be driving this car in a matter of days. Secondly, it happens to be one of the lowest production 1969 Camaro convertibles made. Only 1707 6 cylinder Camaro convertibles were produced, thats less than 10% of the production of 1969 Z-28s. Note: Connecticut is a non-title state. The acquisition of a certificate of title for over 20 model years old is not required. Please contact the DMV's Title Division with any questions at 860-263-5710.
