Vehicle Detail
Up for auction (again, due to a non-paying Ebayer) is a 1985 Honda FL350 Odyssey. Beautiful machine, I hate to sell but it is time for it to go. This is a vintage racer from the late 80's, and appears to be period correct. Lots of modification and aftermarket, this machine is a beauty- but not for the stock purist. I have owned three of these, and will be selling the last two that I own within the next couple weeks. This machine was a racer from the late 80's, but has been casually adult ridden and cared for the last 25 years or so. This machine had a relatively stock motor put back in it last year (not the original motor), or the year before. Motor has very good compression- starts, sounds and idles great, but is rev-limited to 4,000 rpm because of a faulty reverse switch. Thank you to the member that made this diagnosis! Again, this machine needs a new reverse switch (it is blocked off), or the reverse switch wires on the harness re-grounded/re-wired. This machine is a beauty, and is ready to ride (other than the reverse switch enabling a 4k rpm rev limiter). I am confident that otherwise, this machine is in excellent mechanical condition. It is very obvious that this machine was well cared for, and remains in very good condition. Without a doubt, someone with the know how could have this one at 100% in a few hours worth of effort... I do not know the Odysseys well, nor do I have the time. Please be aware that this unit is not stock, please look at pictures closely! Aftermarket tires and wheels, aftermarket floor pan, modified suspension and shock mount locations, nerfs, altered cage geometry, various frame modifications and welds (all professional appearing), lightened control arms, aftermarket exhaust, K&N filter, and more. This Odyssey fits me very well, I am 5'10" and 185 lbs. It would fit a smaller rider well also, but if you are larger than me- it probably wont be a good fit for you without modification. This machine is a beauty, and will break my heart if it sells for less than $2,000- but it is what it is, and will be an as-is NO RESERVE SALE! It is located in Mansfield, Ohio. Paypal deposit of $150 due within 48 hours of auction end. The remaining balance due as cash payment on location, or at my bank within 5 days of auction end. Bid to win folks, this machine will be sold in 7 days! On Oct-12-14 at 18:40:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted all prospective buyers to know, that I still have the race motor that came out of this machine- that will be sold separately. The previous owner told me that it was ready to drop in and go, but I have not been inside of it. I can verify, that it does indeed have a brand new piston and ring. I have a lot of confidence in the previous owner's mechanical aptitude, he was an ex karting guy and seemed to really know his way around this stuff. I will give the winning bidder of this auction, first shot at the motor that was built for this cart. I planned on putting the race motor in this cart, but didn't have the time- and thought that it would be an easier sale to sell this unit with the stock motor that it currently has. To be honest, I have so much FL350 stuff, I hope the right person buys this one... and wants to by the rest. I will be more than fair on prices, at this point I just need the room. I have an extra chassis, an extra stock roller (that could be made into a rider with not much $$), plastics, extra carb, extra suspension components, extra transmission, gears, ignition harness, gaskets, belts, lower cases, one or two extra cylinders, and much more. Some NOS parts, some used.. just a bunch of GOOD stuff. I think what I have left would be a gold mine for the FL350 enthusiast. If you are interested in all of the spares that I have- feel free to send me a message. The winning bidder of this auction, will get first shot at anything else FL350 that I own. Honestly, I probably have enough of this stuff to fulfill any FL350 dreams you have! I would guess I have another $3,000 worth or more of extra parts including the spare machine I have. If this interests you, and you plan on winning this machine- please send me a message, and I will send you pictures. Good luck and happy bidding! On Oct-23-14 at 12:53:14 PDT, seller added the following information: For all of you inquiring about the spare parts that I have (which I have a lot of), email may be best. You can contact me at my ebay name, at aol dot com, which you can do so after auction end as well (to inquire about the status of remaining parts). ******************************************************************************************************* Someone is getting the absolute buy of a lifetime on this machine. Please understand that this thing is in VERY GOOD condition, and is a real eye catcher. Aside from the rev limiting issue, this machine is in very good shape. You may not need to buy a reverse switch, it is possible to disable the switch altogether from the wiring harness, I just never got around to it. Please bid to win, and ask me any and all questions prior to bidding! Pictures don't do this machine justice, its looks GREAT! Brakes are good, steering is tight, tires are in good shape, the works. I think it is much nicer than your average machine, at a fraction of the price. If you would like to inquire about the roller, extra chassis, and motor/transmission stuff- please email me. It will not come with the machine, but if you win this machine- I will give you the first opportunity to own the rest of what I have, for a fraction of fair market price. Thank you and good luck!
