It is a testament to the hand built German engineered automobile. These are solid straight forward cars from the era before the EPA and computers took over the industry. It starts up first time, every time. It shifts smooth and pulls strong. It sounds like it should. If you plan to drive one of these the 4 speed manual is the preferred way to go. It looks good and can be enjoyed exactly as it is! The paint looks good, but does have a number of scratches and dings and scrapes. The chrome is good with some very minor pitting on the trim. The chrome bumpers are mostly good with a few bad spots, see pictures. The Wood interior needs to be refinished. The Cognac Leather front seats have just been recovered, the back seat could be restitched, the door panels are good. This is a 46 year old car in very good overall condition, not a show car. This is a solid Driver. Please look at all the pictures. We have a number of other W111’s currently undergoing restoration. So we are offering this solid driver at auction. It can be enjoyed as it is, or can be a project for a preservation or restoration. This car is such a joy to drive that one of our company owners has been driving it on and off since November.
