Vehicle Detail
2 year frame off restoration with an attention to detail.......4 door body converted to 2 door with correct pillars and quarter panel fillers from my original 2 door post car.....over 2000 documented hours in this build and $17000. + in parts (I have all receipts). My tribute to" Two Lane Blacktop" one of the baddest 55's built 454 big block a-833 4 speed with overdrive disc brakes this car was completely disassembled and rebuilt with new or refurbished components with a close eye for detail...drives great with a solid drivetrain .I really paid attention during mock ups of the engine and trans...drivetrain was installed 4 times to get things just where I wanted .For the un-initiated BBC's don't fit anywhere in a 55 engine bay. The install was completed without modification to the firewall or core support location. I wanted this to look as though GM intended. partial listing of new parts new side glass including vent windows with new gaskets installed Competition Cams cam-lifters-timing set-oil pump-oil pan (Milodon) Perfection clutch-pressure plate 12" with new flywheel aluminum radiator with shroud (has never gone over 180 degrees even in 90+ weather). all suspension(tubular control arms) remanufactured steering box and brake components, tires and wheels, fuel tank, sender American Autowire harness with new switches. very clean updated wiring with all leads soldered with shrink tube...electrics are absolutely immaculate new 1 piece floor pan and much-much more. the pan/chassis has very slick finish that can be hand washed. *does not have a split bench seat. headliner or windshield wiper motor however it does have the wiper transmissions. Fuel gauge reads incorrectly, speedo needle bounces at high speeds all metalwork was performed at my garage then the car was sent to local Ford dealership for skim coat and block sanding. the bodywork is well over a year old and has had time to shrink. there was one bubble on the door, balance of work is sound and the car is very presentable as is(7+ on a scale of 1-10). Remaining bodywork consists of blocking and a couple of spots that will need a light skim and jamb work. The balance of work is estimated at 66 hours and in the 4000. range to make body ready and refinish in a 2 stage black finish. I have the estimate upon request... * one thing I have noticed is that there is very little daylight between the headers and front tire when turned in full lock. There was plenty of clearance during mock-ups, however I cut a half coil of the springs to allleviate a coil bind (shocks were making contact with the inside of the springs) . The problem was solved but clearance was diminshed when turned at full lock. This has presented no problem what so ever and I have monitored this and have never seen witness marks on the headers from the tires..I would immediately address this further if I felt the need to. *car handles just like any car of this of this era with stock steering they have limitations and have to be driven accordingly. Overall this is a proven driver that's 85-90 % complete... starts easily, sounds great with an aggressive idle and gets with it in a hurry, only driven on nice days the chassis has never seen rain there are so many details to this build and I am sure I've missed some , this is a fine piece of machinery that is driven daily(weather permitting).I would drive this car anywhere. I encourage any questions and personal inspections.I have solid feedback and have done my best to represent this car honestly. only cash will be accepted on this deal unless other terms are agreed to....thanks additional information a833 trans gear ratios 3.09 167 100 .73 rear differential is non posi 10 bolt GM 8.5 3.25 ratio axles have new bearings and seals, new pinion seal and cover gasket everything was in good shape upon inspection. Driveshaft was custom made and balanced and installed with new u joints new window fuzzies and door/trunk weather strips are included cowl panel included....straight but needs some filler work camshaft Competition Cams 280 magnum fiberglass deck-lid pinned Interior is very basic, door panels (made by me) no headliner This is a deep pool and I am looking for seasoned bidders with the resources.... bidders with less than 50 bids and any negative feedback will be cancelled and blocked from this auction....I will have to be contacted for approval to participate if an ebayer falls into that category.....thanksOn Oct-22-14 at 18:00:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Dear willis3251,drive train is rock solid and has proved itself in present tune. Paint and interior would take this car to another level. My main focus was to build a brawler with the 60's attitude but with a high level of chassis and drive train detail. - fabjohnnie
