It pains me to say, but my beloved Volvo XC70 has been totaled and now must be sold. I have never had an issue with it, until recently I was ran off the road into a telephone pole by an oncoming driver. People have always prided Volvo on building safe and reliable cars, and it is certainly true. In the past two years this car has had over 4000 dollars worth of maintenance repair work. In the past six month I have had the timing belt, water pump, fuel pump, tires (recent), belt tensioner, cam bearings, starter, wiper blades (front and back), and bushings replaced. I have babied this Volvo since the day I bought it. All fluids have regularly been maintained, and all repairs have been through certified Volvo technicians. My XC70 has every option available and never showed it's age on the interior and the exterior prior to the accident. The damage is on the driver side. The headlight, fender, door, mirror, wheel, and rocker panel are all damaged along with the body being impacted. It is considered to be totaled and sold for parts. All parts other then the mentioned seem to be working fine. It will not drive, but the car will start right up. After the accident the service light turned on (due to airbag deployment, and the abs sensor being yanked away with the wheel. This is still a beautiful car and will serve as an excellent secondary parts car for any one rebuilding they're own Volvo.
