Restored 1969 1/2 VOLKSWAGEN Karmann Ghia Convertible Brought to me by the owner of the last 15 years, this Ghia is most certainly a wonderful driving and looking automobile. Sure to increase in value, this is better than money in the bank. Here is what I know. 1969 1/2 is one of the most desirable years for this model. It has a hard back glass and the desirable chrome bumpers. This VW runs and drives excellent. The engine is very healthy, we think it is the correct 1500 cc engine that came with the car but have no way to prove it. I have a picture of the pan, there is some minor surface corrosion in the front that is no factor. Looks like one pin hole. The paint is 15 years old and looks real nice, indeed. There are some minor bubbles on the bottom of the front fenders down low, that looks easily repairable. I believe the body work is easily repaired. The interior and top are fantastic and the tires are near new. 6,700 miles have been added to the odometer since restoration. This car retains its original Blaupunkt radio, working original clock, non working gas gauge. Very pretty color that is called Chrome Blue supposedly a one year only color. The interior is black and about 50% original panels and seats. Our client has decided to sell his pride and joy to pursue other interests, so help yourself. He usually wins 1st or 2nd in local shows and she is in great driver quality that could be brought up a notch with a bit with some simple work.
