Vehicle Detail
1971 Plymouth GTX Factory black on gunmetal interior. 440 4 barrel engine, 1 of 327 factory 4 speed cars, Dana 60 rear end with 3.54 gears. Full concours restoration completed in 2006. Car has been driven approximately 2,000 miles since completed. Never driven in the rain since restoration completed. Body Cowl, rad support, fender tag and door sticker numbers all match. All factory sheet metal with no patches required, including floors and trunk. Finished in PPG base/clear. An absolutely flawless, laser straight black paint job. Underneath of car is finshed in grey primer, black body paint overspray and undercoating as per original from factory. Air grabber hood, front and rear spoilers and passenger side mirror were added to car later in life. Engine and Transmission Engine is a later 1973 440 (non-numbers matching) rebuilt to 1969 440 six barrel specs, including cam. Transmission is a correct 833 Hemi 4 speed that is non-numbers matching. Everything has been rebuilt from ground up. Car is currently running an Edelbrock carb, but I do have the original carb that requires rebuild and restoration. Pistol grip shifter has been rebuilt by Hurst with brand new linkage. The car sounds nice, runs strong and is very dependable. Undercarriage All driveline and suspension components are brand new or rebuilt. In 2011 I replaced the stock Hemi mufflers with some Fowmaster 40 Series mufflers. G-60 Good Year Polyglas tires are still in as new condition. Rims, center caps and centers are all reproduction items in excellent condition. New stainless exhaust tips installed in 2011. Interior Entire interior is in excellent condition. Dash pad is mint with no cracks. Seat covers are from legendary and were made from NOS 1971 material. Carpeting is excellent. Door panels, headliner and center console are all in mint condition. Steering wheel is a reproduction Tuff wheel. I have stock steering wheel as well. Both steering wheels are included with vehicle. Show History In August 2007, the car won 1st Place in the 1971 and up B-body Stock class at the Mopar Nationals in Columbus, OH, scoring 439 out of a possible 442 points. In August of 2008, the car was shown at The Plymouth Owners Club Grand National Meet where it won Best of Show. The car has also been featured in the October 2008 issue of Mopar Collectors Guide. Documentation No Broadcast sheet was found with the car. Original fender tag is still in place. I also have the original owner's manual, warranty card and Consumer Information sheet, all which match the vehicle's VIN.
