Please note, this auction is for five days, low reserve. 1948 WILLYS-OVERLAND CJ2A-193818...Starts super quick, just bump starter button and it fires right up, runs strong, brakes bleed down in a month or so, but stops good, (new master cylinder included), engine is a later model M38-MC flathead 134, casting number 804380 with smooth head (http://ww2jeeps.com/htm/804308blk.htm), changed oil and oil filter, holds around 30+ psi oil presser, no strange noises in engine, throwout bearing is noisy, (new one included), but it does smoke on hard acceleration, has not run hot all the time I've had it, 12 volt electrics with alternator, headlights work on high and low beam, does drip underneath, (seal pinion seals, tranferscase seal kit included) tires are military style with weather cracks, but have not lost any air in several months that I've had it, rust out in tool compartment bottom, patched and sprayed with bedliner paint, some spots on hat channels and where the original spare tire mount was on rear quarter, windshield has one cracked glass and a flag holder on passenger side, has early style (WWII) style swing out brackets, tandum manual wipers, windshield to hood clamps, clear up to date title with matching vin number, has original Carter carburetor with horn and crossover tube to original oil bath breather, all original gauges and speedometer, dash light, choke and throttle cable, new side mirror, fuel can holder, original long dash plate, four wheel drives works in high and low, will spin all four wheels. Does not jump out of second. There is no tailgate, the previous owner replaced it with a solid rear panel. Not perfect, but a very good start for restoration with a lot of hard to find original parts, or just a run about for fun, open windshield for wind vent, or lay windshield completely down and enjoy the open air feeling, or it's ready for the hunting camp.
