This go anywhere 1987 Mercedes 240GD Diesel is truly the ultimate off road vehicle. It is incredibly smooth driving down the highway, yet does amazing off road. Equipped with the proven 4 cylinder Mercedes Diesel enigine with only approximately 65k miles on it. In passenger vehicles these motors are known to consistently go over 300k miles in service. Averages about 21mpg, with a range of almost 400 miles. Can cruise down the highway comfortably from 60-65mph with a top speed of almost 75mph. Has a 4 speed manual transmission and front and rear locking differentials. These are built to be off road and traverse water up to 40" deep. Very little electronic components and can be operated with the batterys switched off. The canvas top is in decent shape. Not perfect but functional. It can be rolled up on the sides or fully removed. G Wagens are known for being prone to rust issues. This ones tub is in very good shape, some slight bubbling behind the lower guards, but otherwise it is super solid. The front end parts are new and have no rust. The import tax has been paid and is currently the only 240GD Convertible Wagen for sale on the West Coast with a US title in hand.
