Vehicle Detail
Here is a frame-off restoration on a 1975 Honda XL125. Frame, metal components, exhaust system, and other parts were sanded and/or media blasted and then repainted with correct Honda colors. Every piece of chrome and every bolt, nut, and washer was replaced or machine polished. Tank, fenders, and side covers are painted in the correct Honda colors (two coats base and three coats clear) followed by brand new NOS safety/warning decals, side cover decals and tank wings (over $500.00 invested in paint and decals). The engine was disassembled, inspected and the top-end rebuilt (new piston, rings, cylinder, valves seated, gaskets/seals, ect) The engine was then meticulously detailed in the correct color with points cover and other parts polished and clear coated. The engine has just over 2600 original miles and runs like new. Every gasket on this bike is tight - no drips, drops, seeping or weeping of any kind anywhere. The seat is a perfect original only just recently put to use. The carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt. Most of the cables are new NOS as are many of the rubber components. There are original Bridgeston Trail Wing-5 street/trail tires in excellent condition. All electrical components (signals, horn, gauges, lights, switches, etc) work like new. The electrical wiring/system was removed, inspected, then cleaned, detailed and reinstalled with a new battery. The bike has the original owners manual and complete tool kit in excellent condition, plus a custom made luggage rack in gloss black (heavy steel tube all gas welded). The pictures tell the story. Every detail down to the correct labels and plastic wiring harness ties were located for this restoration. It is not a museum-level restoration but it is very close! There are some flaws or areas that could be better and they are:- One side cover had a scratch (managed to do that two weeks after having it painted). - Parts of the rear fender are not perfect. Some small rub marks in the plastic can be seen beneath the paint. - some minor scratches on rear wheel rim- Couple of scratches in the frame from mounting the engine (they have been touched up)This is a fine restoration on a popular bike that appreciates in value every year. Strangers routinely point, stare or stop to ask questions. This is fun bike to ride (plus can get 80 MPG) and it absolutely appreciates in value every year - a combination you can't go wrong with. Buyer to send $200 non-refundable PayPal deposit within 48 hours of sale end. Balance due within 14 days cash, money order, back draft, or personal check. Bike will not be released or shipped until all funds are cleared and determined final. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements (I will be available to meet shipper). I will consider free delivery to the Seattle or Portland area if buyer is from that region but buyer must contact me and get pre-approval. This bike has a clean Washington State title in my name. Please e-mail if you have any questions...thank you. Note: Photo shows 4600 miles but that is a different speedometer. I have the original with 2600 which I can put on the bike but it is does not look as nice (both gauges were swapped out for better ones with brighter colors and clearer lenses).
