After the oil crisis in the seventies gas prices increased and BMW started exploring more economic driving machines. As a first step the Bavarians built the the 325e and 528e, showing that gas engines can be as efficient and lasting as diesels. Next, the engineers proceeded to show that diesel engines can be as sporty as those running on gas. They built the 324TD and 524TD: Plenty of torque, revving up like you expect a BMW to and 33.6 MPG! This BMW was built in Jan 1989. There are said to be less than a hundred of those cars left on european roads and it is easy to imagine in which condition they are. But this was taken care of like no other and saw only 88.000 roadmiles (=142.000 km). LHD, so you do not get killed at the next crossing. See pictures and the video please. No noises anywhere. No oil blown, burnt or dripped. Whatever you touch from door handle to shifter, does not feel used. And so it drives! No vibrations, no play anywhere.
