Vehicle Detail

This 1966 "Deluxe" Fastback was in storage since the mid-70's and pulled out a few years ago (2011). Unfortunately it was wrapped in plastic in a dirt-floor barn so it has suffered a significant amount of rust damage. The highlight of the vehicle is the nice interior and glass. The odometer reads 31475 and based on the lack of wear to the car (interior, windshield, etc) it's probably correct. But due to the overall condition, that low mileage doesn't mean a whole lot I suppose. This car can definitely be saved but it will take a good deal of work. The original door tag is still in place and decodes to: Year: 6 1966 Plant: F Dearborn, MI Model: 09 2+2 Fastback Engine: C 289 2v V8 Unit: 717264 717264 Body: 63B 2+2 Fastback, Pony Interior Color: Y Silver Blue Metallic Trim: 62 Lt. The good:Original and complete, unmolested carOriginal paint (what's left of it)Very nice original Pony Interior, including a nice dashpad and good Deluxe steering wheel with no cracksVery nice tinted glass all the way aroundComplete and functioning fold-down seat, even has the rubber stops still in placeUncut "trapdoor"Nice options including the deluxe interior, console, factory air conditioning, and power steeringThe badThe original 289-2V engine is locked upAll 4 brake drums are locked solidRust in rear frame rails at the shacklesRight shock tower is rusted at baseRear quarters are shot (par for the course)Hood and deck lid are beyond repair - but doors and fenders look repairableThe floors and front frame rails don't look too bad but based on the overall condition of the car I would anticipate they will need attention. The radiator core support and front grill are straight; I couldn't find evidence of any significant accident damage. The left tail light is pushed in a bit, more than likely from someone trying to push the car rather than an accident. Payment:$250 down payment required via PayPal within 3 daysPayPal prior to pickup or certified check/cashShipping:Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shippingPickup needs to be at my location, I don't have the ability to pull this somewhere to meet a transporterPlease make sure the transporter understands the condition - "skates" or "go-jacks" (or a real strong winch) will be needed to load the vehicleMy property won't handle a large transporter. A 2-car trailer is about the max we can maneuver in hereI will be available to help load the vehicleSOLD AS-IS, WHERE IS. NO WARRANTIES.On Sep-01-14 at 14:41:57 PDT, seller added the following information: To avoid confusion - I will let the auction play out to the end. I don't have a BuyNow option for this car. Thanks! I added a few more pics of the headliner, floors (as best I could) and rust spots. On Sep-04-14 at 10:26:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Sept 04: Added one more pic that shows the rust on the front frame rails. They should probably be replaced from the shock towers forward at a minimum so I was wrong on that count (they looked ok from the side but after crawling underneath, not so much from the bottom as you can see in the photo). In behind the towers the rails look solid. The rear rails also look solid where they join the body pan at the front shackle on the rear spring all the way back to about 12" from the rear shackles. The rear 12-18" of the rear rails will need to be replaced. The floors are probably salvageable with piece-meal patches but I'd just go with using full-length panels on each side. A lot faster and cleaner.
