Thanks for looking at my 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport. I purchased this 4x4 new, it's been garage kept and well maintained. It has a 3.7 liter v6, automatic transmission, power windows, power door locks, a/c, cruise, am/fm, cd, cassette with radio controls on the steering wheel. It also has Select trac 4x4 which is your choice of full time or part time 4 wheel drive, which is sort of rare on a Liberty. Now the bad news, while driving I noticed a low level grinding sound. I took it to the garage to have it checked. The mechanic changed the right front rotor and checked the CV joints. After I picked it up and the sound was still there. I took it back to the garage and they pulled the pan on the transmission and told me the transmission needs to be replaced. Also, since the pan was pulled it went from a light grinding sound to a full blown grind with transmission slip. It is still driveable but based on the sound, I don't believe it will last long. To my knowledge there are no other major mechanical issues, but it's been parked since I picked it up at the garage and it does have 168K. I recently replaced the motor in the driver side window, it has 4 new tires and the battery was replaced a few days before the transmission problem started. This is a no reserve auction.
