1966 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE A REAL BEAUTY SMALL CAR WITH BIG CAR ATTITUDE No single car model, with the exception of Ford's Model T, has played such a major role in changing automotive history as the Volkswagen Beetle. Offered here is a 1966 Volkswagen Beetle finished in delightful Sunset Moraco. The car is riding on beautiful five star wheels accented with Volkswagen center caps. The interior is nicely appointed with tailored upholstery, carpets, and an under-dash wicker parcel package tray. This slightly modified Beetle has a fun and tidy look that gets all the looks and positive comments with its Frenched blue dot taillights and outstanding interior. EXTERIOR There are many close up photos taken from every angle. I will show you the entire car with words and pictures, starting with the exterior. This is the best color for this car. It draws like a magnet. The body is solid and so are the floors. It is just not your ordinary VW. It sports a roof rack that can be dressed in many ways. The photos show the car with and without the rack. The yellow surf board, oar and case go to the new owner. The polished wheels and tires were not cheap but they make the car. Moving or standing still they make a nice statement.......beautiful! All of the glass is in new condition. The windows open and close just like they should. The chrome bumpers and bright work are in very good condition. Some serious money was spent Frenching the tail lights and adding the blue dots. It was well worth every dollar spent. The look is smart and tasteful. All of the lights work. The headlight lenses are perfectly clear. Special attention was given to the turn signals. The amber lights inside the headlights flash and cast a pleasant glow when turned on. Small details add so much; like the window and hood deflectors and back window trim. It brings back memories of an earlier time. INTERIOR You would never guess you were in a small car. The custom interior is smartly appointed, roomy, supportive and very comfortable. The front bucket seats are positioned just right. There is plenty of space for almost any size adult. They fold forward nicely for easy access to the rear. Here you will find room for two adults. They are positioned with comfort in mind. The builder expertly fitted the entire interior. The rear seats fold down completely for storage and/or cargo. All surfaces are nicely carpeted. The wicker tray adds an Acapulco look. Tucked down there is a nice bright light with a convenient on/off switch mounted on the dash. The half horn ring was reinstated in 1966 and looks great. The gas gauge, speedometer and odometer work. This car features seat/shoulder belts and they operate properly. The giant yellow dice go to the new owner. The trunk is clean and solid with nice carpet. HOW DOES IT RUN? This is a very good running car. It has recently been tuned. It rolls down the road easily at expressway speeds and offers 25 miles per gallon. It shifts through the gears just like it should. The clutch is smooth. You will find it easy to drive. There is no shake at any speed. It handles exceptionally well. The car stops quickly and sure. There is plenty of power. Just for fun, the throaty exhaust pumps up the action, yet it is not too loud. Just turn the key and it starts instantly. The idle is smooth. There is no hesitation when you step on the gas. The engine compartment is detailed and very clean. Everything is in place. Nothing is left out or unfinished. This is a timeless classic. Beautifully appointed with striking modification. It is a solid investment and is street or highway ready for miles of enjoyment and seasons of pleasure. Celebrate the wonder years of the sixties....... 48 years ago and counting. I have a clear title in hand. REMEMBER TO PLACE YOUR BID.
