I purchased this car from an owner in Florida sight unseen - he was buying a brand new Avanti convertible at the time. This Avanti has been stored in a heated garage and driven regularly. I have replaced the dual master cylinder, the fuel and water pumps and carpets in the trunk. The A/C has been updated to meet modern standards and blows cold. The steering and suspension are tight. When you turn the key it fires right up and runs strong. Good tires - front one have only 5,000 miles on them. The fiberglass body is in good shape, with fine spider cracks typical in glass cars of this age, and a few dings on the rear deck. The chrome is pitted as you would expect after so many years.The white interior is in good shape but for a few streaks on the side of the driver's seat. The car was originally built for Studebaker engineer Gene Hardig, so it was carefully assembled. It was finally sold to a Charles Cohen in Chicago.The power antenna is not functioning.
