My husband bought this many years ago as transportation over my protestations. I was embarrassed to be seen in it. I nicknamed it, "the van that wouldn't die". It always started, no matter how cold the morning or how long it had been sitting. When the newer cars broke down or wouldn't start, this one would get us where we needed to be, I drove it to work many times. The previous owner removed the seats and side panels and put in insulation and wiring and lived in it. He had it jacked up precariously and was working under it when it fell on him and killed him. I heard this story after I had owned the van for a couple of years and never verified it. I took out the home made bed and cupboards and used it to haul hay. It was running when I parked it seven years ago and it won't start now. But I believe that it could be resurrected. There's no battery with it. The tires are flat. When I was driving it, the linkage was really loose, the carburetor needed rebuilding, it was blowing oil and got horrible gas mileage but it always ran.
