Vehicle Detail
1957 Nomad, driver + quality. I have owned this car for 4 or 5 years, I wanted a street driver not a restored car. I have enjoyed driving it but now I have other things I am interested in. I replaced the 350 and 5 speed with a low mileage (less than 16k miles) 5.7 (1996 model) and a NEW Autogear M-22W 4 speed, 3.36 original rear end. Interior is 3-4 yr old Danchuk interior. The carpet is so-so, no headliner but I have NEW headliner bows (chrome), most chrome is new in the past few years, std drum brakes all around. Get in crank and drive as it sits. I will be honest about any and all issues/conditions on this car, just ask if I missed something. PROS: Low mileage 5.7, 16 k miles New M22w 4 speed New/recent wiring harness front to back New/recent fuel tank and lines New/recent power steering system (but the pulley recently stripped out) New/recent Steering column Danchuk Interior New tailgate bars Restored/rechromed liftgate Clear Title (Ohio) other parts included: Vintage Air system, rear seat back (not installed), new grill, new repo back bumper (not installed), Good tires CONS....after I installed the engine I discovered a small leak of anti-freeze from the back of the engine so it appears the freeze plug on the back of the block is leaking. The body is pretty good but has some repaired areas of rust in the usual areas. The lower rear areas of the front fenders have rust, the lower qtrs. have some repaired rust areas, the floor boards have had some patches, the rockers were replaced/repaired years ago, the tailgate has the usual rust at the bottom edge, frame has some rust but safe and driveable, so it is not perfect but it is a very good enjoyable car that needs someone else to either enjoy or take it to a higher level. Other parts that can be discussed ....new 9 in rear end with discs, 3.50 gears, NOS pass qtr panel for 2 dr post wagon, new floor boards, additional lift gate and tail gate, additional tailgate bars (NOS), EXTRA rust free frame from Navada, NEW Fatmans front stub with power rack and pinion, polished control arms, discs, extra front fenders, some driver side qtr panel patch panels...and other small parts Check out my 1980 M-80 Malibu for sale in my other auction
