Vehicle Detail

I’m selling my 1968 original and uncut Ford Bronco. It’s got the original 289 V-8 engine, not rebuilt, but runs, drives and idles great. 3 speed on the column. This Bronco has never been lifted, cut or modified. Maintained and serviced regularly and garaged. 92K original miles and the odometer still works along with all gauges. Mechanically in good condition. Engine looks as it should with original finishes for the age. No under leaks, no smoke or unusual noises. Four wheel low and high work with no problem. I don’t use the Bronco off-road however. Just lock in the hubs and four wheel drive on occasion to keep everything operating. The rear driver side frame just near to the back bumper / gas tank has approximately a 6 inch metal plate welded to the bottom. Likely an area where collections of wet stuff did not get washed out well over the early years. Also, a few pin holes near to the bottom driver side rear window hatch area, see pictures for both items. Hatch pin holes can be repaired or replaced but minor, and did not affect my use/intentions of the Bronco at all. Outside of these two items, all is great and strong. The original radio is still installed but not re-wired since the Bronco got a new paint job, inside and out, in 2009. Paint still looks great as you can see in the pictures. Same original colors as in 1968 when new. You can see the engine compartment, which was not painted in 2009, is the original color. New driver and passenger side floor boards, reupholstered seats, new exhaust mid vehicle to rear, new shocks, new brake shoes, new tires (maybe 1500 miles on them), and emergency brake also in 2009. Great story goes with this Bronco too. In this Broncos 46 year history, I’m the second owner. I was able to purchase this Bronco from the original owners, husband (and wife), 90 yrs. and 86 yrs. old respectively. The gentleman purchased it new on May 14, 1968 at then Shoppe Ford in Augusta, Maine. Still have the service card and service envelope to go with it and both sets of original keys. The gentleman was no longer able to drive but told me about some great memories of this Bronco along with his family throughout the years. It was easy to tell that it was more than four wheel drive vehicle to he and his wife. Ford produced 14,419 of these great American four wheel drive Broncos in 1968. I don’t know the number of originals left in existence and in this condition but the number has to be very small. There aren’t many stock Broncos that remain so as the fortunate buyer of this Bronco you might want to consider keeping it stock too. Example, see the original white leather arm rests in the pictures. You can replace with $30 vinyl types or keep the originals. Depends on what you like. Recently had safety and reliability items professionally serviced by a Classic Car Company. New plugs, points, all fluids changed, air filter, new distributor cap, new battery wires, new rear drive shaft, 4 new seat belts. It’s a great Bronco that turns heads and starts conversations 100% of the time that I take it out for a drive. I call it an ice cream vehicle with the family, but we eat the ice creams outside of the Bronco! You can go in any direction that you want to with this one, leave it as is – drive and enjoy now, take it up a level to show condition, or modify and create your own personal piece of American history. Full payment is due within 7 days of the auction closing via cash in person or certified bank check. Bank check will need to clear and be deposited on my end before shipment or delivery of Bronco. No warranties, inferred or applied, sold as is. Buyer pays all pick up and transportation fees and costs. Bill of sale can also be handled by FED EX or UPS or given to transporter. Titles don’t apply in Maine to vehicles of this age, just bill of sale to transfer ownership. A non-refundable $250.00 USD deposit should be made by the winning bidder through PayPal upon the close of the auction but no later than within 48 hours winning the Bronco. There is a reserve but it’s very reasonable for this Bronco... Time to pass it on to the next owner who will carry this amazing Bronco forward. My name’s Pete and I can be reached at (207 215 5774) with questions. Thanks.
