Triple White Classic '78 VW Beetle I have up for sale my 1978 VW Super Beetle. It's a true classic - a Karmann Triple White Edition convertible - the last VW Beetle convertible built in Germany during the late 1970's (1976-1979). Possibilities ... This little bug has so many possibilities ... drive it as it is for some fun in the sun - turn those heads as you go down the road ... or give it a complete restoration - all the important structural parts on this baby are solid. Give it a complete restoration .... Some VW Beetles are just not good candidates for restoring ... they're notorious for having rust problems in key structural areas (i.e. spare tire tray, front lip, battery tray, front shock towers, floor pans, etc.). Not this one! ... it's completely solid with no issues. Cosmetically it's not perfect, but it's still ready for some weekend fun in the sun. It does have some exterior rust on the body panels, wheels, bumpers, and chrome including some paint chipping and cracks. I've included some pictures which show the problem areas. A great plus is that the top was just replaced last year (garage kept since installed) and it comes with the original boot. In addition, all the lights and original gauges work, including the clock. Has late model radio/cd player but no speakers. Seats and door panels are good to go with no rips. Drive it as it is ... The 1600cc fuel-injection engine runs strong (no smoke or oil leaks), and the 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly. I have never had any mechanical issues with this sweetie, even when parked for periods of time. It always cranks right up and drives just fine ... ready for you to drive it home.
