Up for auction is a very cool W115 300D with the OM617NA Diesel engine. This car was sold new on 9/27/1976 to a Mr Jacobson in Odessa Florida and came from Bevan Motor Co in Hutchinson KS. In May of 1996 a Mr Burhenn acquired the vehicle and it ended up in El Dorado KS not far from where it was originally sold. Mr Burhenn was quite well known in that small town in Kansas for lovingly driving it around for almost 17 years until his passing at which point it was in the families care until a few months ago. The car is by no means perfect but is actually quite a nice little vehicle. It has some paint defects such as some "I assume tree sap" that is clinging reluctantly to the paint as well as two small rust bubbles over the driver side headlamp as well as a small rust spot on the hood and has some rust under the surface of the rear drivers side quarter panel. There are also several other small things that need attention windows are inop, a/c blows warm although holds vacuum. Some interior bits need attention etc. nothing extreme I just like full disclosure. The car drives great!! I've had a blast tooling around In it but I'm restoring a W126 at the moment so this needs to find a new home. I do have meticulous records of the car from 5/96-8/2007 it's amazing! Fires right up idles smooth as could be shifts wonderfully has almost zero blowby. This could be a daily driver now or with some love a neighborhood car show vehicle.
