It is loose but does not flop around. You would not notice it unless you grabbed it. Also I've had a few question regarding the extent of the flood damage. I have replaced nothing on this car and all the electronics appear to be working. The fuel door release and the rear hatch release buttons have to be fiddled with sometimes to release them. There was a CEL but that has since cleared itself. The recline lever falls off from time to time on the driver seat, but I have it. Otherwise everything appears to work and operate as it should. Again I am driving the car as we speak and it is currently tagged and registered in the State of Ohio.
