Vehicle Detail

RELISTED!!! This is the one for you if you want an original non-rusty show or go Mustang Fastback 2+2. Please review photos they are recent and show the condition very well. 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2, restored to original condition to MCA show standards. Rare color combo. Tahoe Turquoise with Light Aqua (standard) Interior compliment each other well. Beautiful !! My wife and I have owned this Mustang for more than 24 years. We have shown it in many MCA shows all over the Mid-Atlantic. We have been MCA (Mustang Club of America) members for many years. This is an older restoration (early 90's) that still shows well. Recently took to the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at Charlotte Motor Speedway. (Even drove a few laps around the track!). We take it to most all local car shows and cruise in's. The Mustang was restored to original condition to better than occasional driven class for MCA. Always shows well, usually Second place (there are a lot of really nice Mustang's at these events). This is not a trailer queen, but a very clean good looking And driving Fastback. I am also an AACA member and have shown this Mustang in a few AACA Shows, in 2010 we received a "Junior Award", it could go for a "Senior Award" if you installed Bias Ply tires and put an original AM radio in. I was just satisfied with the Junior. The photos are recent and show the current condition of the Mustang. This is a factory "A" code (factory four barrel carb.) Fastback, Automatic transmission, drum brakes, no power steering, no A/C. Stock 289 V-8 has dual exhaust with cross over pipe. Has style steel wheels with BFG's in very good condition. It is always keep inside (covered) and only driven occasionally in nice weather, never out during the winter months. The engine is a stock 289 4V runs well no leaks or problems it sounds stock (not loud). It runs very well and everything works as it should (except windshield washer and has only one speed for windshield wipers). It is in very good condition and ready to enjoy, show or go. The mustang starts right up and runs/drives/shifts as it should, would drive it anywhere. Note: it currently has pertronix pointless ignition and an Edlebrock carb. but I have an original Autolite 4100 to go with car. Also have many receipts and records to include. Lots of trophies also if you want. The interior is stock/standard (except I did install the console a few years ago, I always thought they looked good/sporty) and very good condition (complete interior was replaced when restored). Note: see photo of door tag to decode. This Mustang was shipped to Charlotte, NC when new (1966) and we bought it near Mt. Airy, NC in 1990. So the Mustang has always been in a salt free area, it is not rusty at all. The Mustang was complete and drivable when I bought it, so it has the original doors, hood, trunk lid, glass (except windshield), etc. so no aftermarket ill fitting/cheap parts on the car. As far as body panels, etc., I did replace driver floor and seat riser (because of minimal light rust in the original floor), front right inner fender apron (from battery acid rot), right rear lower quarter ( because of minimal rust on lower edge), replaced front and rear valances (because of dents, etc.) when car was restored ( these were installed by a professional shop). All frame rails, etc. are original and rust free. The Mustang is very clean inside and out and underneath. Again most everything was replaced or refurbished when the Mustang was restored and everything has been very well maintained by me through out the years. It is not perfect (if so it would be priced $50K +) but is a very nice Mustang that anyone would be proud to own. Email if serious, I'll send phone number and can answer any questions that you may have. Why am I selling? I'm not sure, just thought the 50th Anniversary year would be a good time. I'm sure we will regret selling it. Just not driving it and showing as much as we used to. (I am restoring a '66 convertible and a 56' F100 - currently to play with!). I know a nice rust free original non-molested Mustang fastback is hard to come by, so here is your chance to own one. Thanks for looking and Bidding! On Jun-25-14 at 18:48:33 PDT, seller added the following information: The mileage showing is 47,825 this is the original gauge cluster that was in Mustang when we bought it, but Mustang will be sold with true mileage unknown or mileage is in excess of vehicle limits. (as stated on VA title). Also Mustang is sold "AS IS" with no warranty. Thanks for all of your interest! On Jul-26-14 at 06:56:50 PDT, seller added the following information: I am not interested in any trades (but thanks for the offers) This is the first time in the 24 years that we have ever priced the Mustang or even considered selling!! Thanks for your interest !
