This car is being relisted because the high bidder is a deadbeat.... never contacted me, and did NOT pay, AND never answered my emails.... 1987 Cutlass supreme... was bought new and always garaged...It has been stored in a heated garage for 24 years. You will be the second owner... I am selling for the son of the original owner...so here is what I have been told... the car was bought new from the dealership by his father and the son was able to drive it with the fathers permission. The son took the car out without the dad's approval on a weekend night and was then grounded from the car...It became a match of who was going to show who was more stubborn... Thus the car sat in the garage from that weekend till a couple weeks ago... The father had a stroke and can no longer live at home...the son is now power of attorney and just wants to sell the car...being that is was a wedge between them when he was a teenager. The body looks to be rust free... the undersides look rust free and the car still looks pretty nice....the interior is all stock and no rips or tears that I noticed... the headliner is coming down above the back seat area... the body does have a scrape on the driver front fender where I could see it came in contact with the garage door opening where the car had sat all its life... yes there is a dent but I am sure it can be fixed without major expense... I pulled the trunk liner away on the sides and I see no rust at all... trunk looks clean with original spare. tires are original and hold air for awhile... left rear does have a slow leak... engine compartment is stock and all there.... I have no idea of the running condition, and I have not tried to get the car to start. A vehicle sitting this long should be looked at my a qualified mechanic and maintenance done or repairs as necessary...I do not want to mess up anything that could be properly done to get the car running... No warranty... the car will have to be hauled on a trailer or roll back.... You have an excellent piece to work with here...This would be a great car to fix up and have a nice original car. or modify to your liking...possibilities are many... On Jul-10-14 at 08:04:43 PDT, seller added the following information: I took some pictures yesterday for a person on ebay that is interested... I want to clarify there is light surface rust on the drive shaft, transmission cross member, some on exhaust pipes and muffler outer skin is popped at bottom....on the floor pans and frame rails there is light surface rust... by no means does it look like to me there is any pitting and zero rust through....The surfaces like the drive shaft and cross member commonly came from the factory unpainted thus they will have a rust look to them....same as the frame rails....they don't look to be undercoated... thus in spots it is normal to have some surface rust coloration show up over the years.... the surface rust on the floor pans can be taken care of with a scotch brite or scrub pad.... IN Illinois this is what we consider no rust.... this car is a extremely solid.... it is not show room or right off the assembly line.... but this is a very nice solid car...you won't be disappointed...
