Up for auction is a 100% original 1986 Mustang GT Convertible with 99,500 original. The car has original paint, interior, carpet, stereo and on and on. The only non original items (not including mechanical wear items) are the exhaust from the mufflers back and the tires. This is truly a find! The Fox Body GTs that have not been modified, abused or beat into submission are getting harder and harder to find. This GT started its life in the State of Washington and relocated to California in 1999. From all the records I can find this was a one owner car up until recently when it changed hands to another gentleman and then me. Always adult owned and never abused! The paint and body on this GT are original and nice. Some minor dings, scratches and blemishes that can be expected for a 28 year old car. You will notice some touch up work on the smoke gray portion of the bumpers – The paint on the rest of the bumper trim is so nice I elected not to repaint them. The decals are all in place and in good condition. The large hood decal does have the typical cracking but it is minor in comparison to the typical. The interior is very, very nice! Dash has zero cracks door panels are near perfect carpet is good (although slightly faded) console and console lid are nice and seats are very nice. The piping on the driver’s seat does have a 1” wear spot on the bottom cushion and the same on the upper cushion. Bolsters are nice! The convertible top is original and in fair to good shape there are three wear spots which I have shown in the photos. If the top was put up and down frequently I would estimate the top would need replaced within the year. Convertible boot is like new and includes the original case and trunk is very, very clean. The car could us new window seals (inner and outer) as they are brittle and cracked. Mechanically the car is sound. Runs smoothly, shifts nice and drives perfectly. Cruise works, Marchal fog lights with covers are still on the car and work (one has a burnt out bulb), original AM/FM cass. is still in the car (door for cassette player is missing and the volume control has the typical crackle when adjusting volume levels – I have been spraying it with electrical parts cleaner and that is helping). All windows operate correctly as do lights fan controls etc. The A/C is operational but is in need of a recharge. Prior to transfer to the new owner I will be having the car completely serviced (engine and transmission) and brakes replaced (I think the pads are old and glazed/cracked). Tires are like new. If you have been searching for an 85/86 Foxbody you know how tough they are to find. This is a very special, very original car that you just don’t find anymore. Included with the car is the original Owner’s Manual, original keys and a spare driving light and cover. The car is not perfect but it is nice and unbelievably original. The following are items I am aware the car will need; 1) Retaining grommet on drivers side seat belt tension switch (two grommets come with car) 2) Filler/seal between shifter and housing (where P/R/N/OD/D/1 are labeled) 3) A/c charging 4) Inner and outer lower window seal 5) Bulb for one driving light I believe that is it. Don’t miss your opportunity to own this very original low mileage, unmolested 1986 Mustang GT. You just do not see them like this one any longer.
