Vehicle Detail

1985 Pininfarina Azzura Spider Convertible (Fiat 2000 Spider) VIN: ZFRAS00B5F5505886 Color: Red/Black/Tan Engine:1998 cc DOHC 4-cylinder Trans: Automatic Miles: 85,552 This 1985 Pininfarina Azzura Spider (Fiat 2000 spider) is fun to drive and has low, original miles. This is a documented 2-owner vehicle. This vehicle has rarely been driven over the past 8 years (last registered in 2006). I have been going through the vehicle to address any issues that may exist to ensure best drivability. This convertible is in very nice condition but will require a bit of minor attention to make it a perfect daily driver or weekend cruiser. Exterior The Exterior of this convertible is in very good condition. The paint is smooth and very shiny. The body (including the undercarriage) is virtually rust-free. This is one of eh most rust-free Fiats that I seen in quite some time. As with many older vehicles there are a few minor dings in the body. The paint is thin on a few edges, but still very presentable. There are a few small topical rust spots located only on the driver’s side rear wheel arch (see picture). All chrome is in very good condition with the slight exception of the front bumper and rear back-up light housings (some pitting). The glass throughout the vehicle is in very nice shape although there is a very small (repaired) BB hole in the center of the windshield. The four original Chromodora wheels are in nice shape as is the spare however; the paint is slightly faded on two of the wheels. Tires are almost like new with plenty of tread left. The tan top is in very good condition. The black tonneau cover is in visibly good condition however the clamps that secure the cover to the rear of the vehicle are not present. Mechanical This vehicle starts up on the first turn of the key and the engine runs well. There is a newer battery, air filter, recent oil filter, ignition wires, and fuel filters. I have spent the past few weeks meticulously cleaning the major electrical grounding terminals throughout the vehicle. Any electrical circuits that were not performing to factory standards (12V DC and solid ground) were repaired. All electrical circuits and components (lights, door chime, horn, etc.) work well with no known issues. The water pump pulley is loose (bad bearing) and produces a noise when the engine is running. With this, the water pump may need to be replaced. This vehicle shifts well through all gears with no issues. The brakes function well but could use a bleeding for optimal performance. The exhaust system appears to be solid with no audible noises from leaks, although there is a rattle present on occasion. I have only driven this vehicle around the neighborhood and not on any extended drive since taken out of storage. Interior The interior is in overall very nice condition. The leather seats are in good condition with no rips or tears. The door panels are in nice condition. There is very mild bowing in the larger flat area of the panels (common to these vehicles). The carpet is in good condition but can use a very good cleaning. There are no cracks in the dash or console. The wood trim is in nice condition. The radio turns on however the stations cannot be changed. A replacement AM/FM/CD stereo will be included with the sale. A new antenna (manual pull-up) has been installed. There is a missing plastic “trim” piece on the rear parcel shelf (rear seat) and the remaining are in fair-good condition. Conclusion Overall, this 1985 Pininfarina Azzura Spider would make a wonderful vehicle for someone to enjoy as a daily driver. This vehicle has been accurately described to the best of my experience and ability. Even though this vehicle looks very appealing, it is almost 30 years old and needs a little work to be a nice daily driver. This vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is with no warranty to guaranty expressed or implied. I am happy to any questions that you may have. Feel free to contact me.
