Vehicle Detail

1966 Ford Mustang Sprint NO RESERVE Hi, thanks for stopping by and checking out my 1966 Ford Mustang Sprint. This little Mustang was bought new in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The gentleman who bought it new, used it for his daily driver up until 1979, when it developed a carburetor issue ( there were 2 carbs in a box in truck including the one on it, that he was trying to rebuild but never got around to finishing). He put it up on blocks, and stored it all these years. Around 2004 he had passed away, always hoping to get this old Mustang back on the road, this is when his daughter became car take of the car. They sold his house just recently and the Mustang needed a new home, that is how I came across it and gladly brought it home. I get Really excited to see a fresh Survivor Mustang, that has not been restored, and is basically very original. Unmolested Mustangs, are very hard to find, this car has an excellent body on it, amazing floors and frame rails, very impressive. We have very cool summers and mild winters and we do not salt the roads, which means, that you will save thousands of your hard earned money, not doing a bunch of rust repairs. This car is very solid and straight, and never has been apart. This car is very original, he did use it as is daily driver, from 1966-79, it does have 133,311 miles on it. This pony has most of its original paint. There were a few areas were it was spot painted during the 1970's. It is very hard to find an original Mustang like this, hopefully who ever wins it, will give it a new home and get it back on the road again, shouldn't be hard to do. I put a battery in it, and everything almost works, lights, heater fan, wipers, etc. I have not really tried to start it, I was told when he parked it, it needed a little carburetor work when he parked it. It has sat of 34 years, the engine is not free currently, so it does not run. This is a very solid car for someone, all original sheet metal and panels, even the bumpers are original, can still see some stickers underneath. It is so nice to see an original Mustang, so many today, have been restored 3 or 4 times, this is an unmolested little Mustang that will make someone a nice little car, most mustang owners who have built cars, will agree when they see it underneath, how solid it is. Take a look at all the pictures, and you will get a good idea of what you are looking at. Again, IT DOES NOT RUN AND DRIVE, the engine has not been started since 1979. I have done very little to it, basically the way you see it is the way I got it, besides washing it off, and cleaning it a little. These engines are very easy to work on, and cheap if you want to rebuild the motor or get another one. Personally the next owner, should try to get the engine unfrozen, it does not take much just one thing gets sticky and no movement, especially after 34 years. I think if someone took their time, put some diesel or Marvs mystery oil in it and let it sit, and take the valve cover off and clean the heads and such, that you might get it running. If not easy to rebuild, it is the original motor to the car. Another thing someone could do, is do a V8 conversion to it, and just enjoy it as is, and drive it. Everything is there mechanically, couldn't tell you how everything works because it is not running. The brakes are not working currently either, figures since 34 years of being in hibernation. It does roll on its own and steer, I did put a battery in it, and amazingly almost everything works, lights, wipers etc. I really wanted to take some time and get this back on the road, but I have so many cars right now, but who can pass up on a Survivor Mustang, not me, it needs a new home, can't keep them all. The interior is all original. It does have some needs, but 100% original, see pictures. What is really amazing, and cost the most when restoring, is the Headliner is perfect, and I can not tell you when the last time it was that I saw an Original Dash in this condition. This car does have pony interior which is a very nice option. The center console is in excellent shape for its age, and original. The trunk area is again excellent, very amazing and original. Underneath the car, is absolutely mint, for a car of this age, especially a Mustang. I cleaned off some of the original undercoating, on the passenger side, to expose the Original Primer on the floors, amazing, I show a picture of that area. If you cleaned the whole floor that is what the whole undercarriage would look like for the most part. The body is very good. Most of the paint is original. There are a few areas were I can tell there were some repairs. The passenger rear quarter panel, behind the wheel back half has been painted. Inside the trunk you can see a little damage down in the lower section were they repaired it, and then spot painted the quarter back in. On the front of the hood, you will see some little spots, were there is some primer or bad paint match, and a little bondo cracks in the center. Most of the other paint looks to be original, but really hard to tell since the paint is so old and faded, there might be other small spots, but to me nothing of any major concern. Obviously lots of paint chips and scratches, some very small little paint blisters, but very minor. I did hand polish a little bit on the roof on the C piller next to the quarter window, and it did shine. It would be just fun to drive it like it is, clean up some things here and there, fix this and that, and just drive it, how many old Mustangs, are this original, not many I bet. Give me a Call if you have questions! *U.S. and International bidders welcome as long as your friendly! Has not seen light for a while, was happy to bring her home. Horses were like, where are you taking our stable mate!!! Clean little original pony, it will be nice to see someone get it on the road again, as I mentioned before, it does not run, but rolls easy!! Before anyone emails me, yes I know it has 1965 caps on it, the guy liked them better, and personally so do I. Also original 1966 Oregon Plates that have been on it since new. 1st thing I noticed about this car was that Original Hand Painted Pin Stripe!!!! I'm kind of a Mustang fan if you couldn't tell. Last current registration, matches the plate 1980. I just love Pony Interior. The dash is amazing, when was the last time you have seen an Original Mustang Dash in this condition, no cracks, no warps, amazing. Headliner is amazing, no rips or tears. 1966 Ford 200 Sprint, notice the original Chrome Air Cleaner. For fun I took a little hand wax to it, shined up nicely. This is amazing, cleaned off the factory undercoating, and look at the original primer!!!! You could do this to the whole thing underneath, and it would probably look like this. This car has very nice frame rails, front and back!!! This is one of the biggest issues, the battery box is usually always bad, not this one!!
