Vehicle Detail

1968 Ford F100- Ranger NO RESERVE Hey, thanks for stopping by and checking out my 1968 Ford F100 Ranger, these little Short Box pickups are really good looking, one of my favorite Fords of all times. These trucks have very nice lines, I get super excited when I see one of these, which is not that often, how many have you seen lately, especially pre 1970 models with out the plastic grills, there is just something about the aluminum full grilled trucks that I love. The proportions are perfect, the stance, everything about them I really like. Top it off with the brute torque of the FE big block 390, and you really have something fun to drive. This truck would make someone a nice cruiser, or would look great pulling a little Vintage Camping trailer, or something along those lines. Super fun to drive, not very often do you even see one of these trucks cruising around. This truck was bought new here in Portland, Oregon, at Lynn Kirby Ford Inc, off Union St. Just as a side note, the Dealership was originally called Kupp Motor Co. and the sales manager, Lynn Kirby bought the dealer ship in the early 1960's. It was later called Coliseum Ford, and now it is called Dick Hannah Ford, enough of the history, just thought it was interesting. Anyways, The last gentleman that owned this truck got it in 2006, I believe from the original owner from what I was told, and he decided to make the truck a nice cruiser. So he took it apart, and painted it inside and out, and really just had a great time with it. The way you see it today is pretty much the way I got it. My next step on this truck was to lower it a bit, and give it another look, but I am going to leave that for the next guy or gal. Give me a call, if you want more information, would love to talk to you about it and answer any questions. If you win it, I don't have any cameras or anything or free t-shirts here like those guys down in Texas at Gas Monkey. I talked to those guys a long time ago, 8 years maybe, when I owned the Phantom Bantam, they tried to buy it from me to take to Barrett Jackson. We didn't strike a deal, funny though because it ended up on a show called Hardcore Pawn one night, I was channel surfing one nite and saw it there, so that was pretty cool, that is my only claim to fame, lol. Anyways, joking aside, this is a great little truck, that you can drive and enjoy right now, drive to your local cruise-in, or hamburger joint and just have a good time. Give me a call if you need anything would be glad to help, thanks, Jason 503-910-2085 The condition of the truck is very nice. It is a tu-tone paint, green on the bottom with a white roof, looks great, color combo is very nice, with the Wimbledon Ford White, wheels, and the seat to match, the truck really ties in together. The body is nice, this is not a rusty truck very solid. Here in Oregon in the Willamette Valley, we have very mild winters, and cool summers, we do not salt the roads, so many of our trucks and classic cars have been saved if cared for. This truck is very solid, the paint is nice, but not show condition. I guess what I am saying is that it is not a 10-15K paint job on it. With that said, you will take it to Local Shows, cruise ins, etc, and really have a good time with it for sure. It has a nice shine, but you can see little imperfections here and there, little tiny chips that have been touched up, the paint is now about 8 years old, but over all it is a good looking truck. There are a couple small paint blisters at the bottom of the passenger fender very minor, spots, you can see in my pictures. All the body panels line up very nice for the most part. The only rust repairs the gentleman did, is there were a couple minor spots on the drivers and passenger floor board, underneath you can see a couple little spots, about the sized of a quarter, he welded a couple little pieces of metal inside the cab floor, but did not cut it out from underneath, you could do this easily if you wanted to down the road. It does stay nice and dry inside, no leaks since I have had it. The bed is not rusty, it does have some waves on the bed floor, from being obviously used like a truck, but for the most part it is a nice bed, besides some of the paint flaking off between the ribs on the bed floor. A nice bedliner would be a nice ad, the bed floor is very solid, no rust or repairs. The bottoms of the cab look good, inside the door jams all look very nice as well. All the glass is good, no cracks, windows roll up and down nicely as well. Overall the exterior is clean, it is not a show truck or concours, but it is a very nice driver for sure, and everyone enjoys looking at it. Please look at the photos and check it out, it sits very nice, and has a nice stance. The Chrome on the truck is decent, but it is original, and does have some pitting on it. To take it to the next level you may want to have some of the light bezels replaced or chromed, the stainless polished, small dings taken out etc. The interior is clean, the seat is in excellent shape, had it done with a white top to match the wheels and the roof, it really looks nice. No rips or tears in it, the padding is very nice. It had new carpet in it as well. The dash pad is in excellent shape, no cracks in it or discoloration. The steering wheel is original, but does have some cracking on it in the center hub, still usable, but this will be an easy upgrade for the next owner. The radio is original, but it is not hooked up currently. The arm rest are in good condition, the doors panels all match the exterior color of the truck very nice. The Temp gauge does not work, everything else is working good. The horn and cigarette lighter are not working. Speedometer and Odometer both work good, current mileage on it reads 92,973 not sure if it is original, assume mileage has rolled over. The gas gauge currently is not working. The heater works good, fan motor works good as well. Very clean interior, non smoker rig, this is a truck you can take you wife/husband or girl friend/boy friend or even your dog, will love it inside. Take a look at the pictures, and you will see it is nice for a vintage truck. The drivetrain in this truck is very good. It has a 1968 390 V8, it has lots of power, runs very smooth. The engine has a lot of torque, when you hit the throttle you know your are driving a powerful little truck, just something about these FE (Ford Edsel), engines. The engine does not have any issues, runs great, does not burn any oil, or blow smoke. It looks very nice in the truck, when you pop open the hood, it looks great. It actually has some 1968 Ford 428 Chrome Valve covers on it, they are in decent shape, hard to find, they really ad a nice touch to the engine compartment, Powered by Ford. The truck does have Power Steering so it is very easy to drive, and also has Power Brakes, both work very good. The steering box, does have a little gear oil seepage, but nothing major, you can see some residue on the side of it. The transmission is a 3spd manual. It does have a Brand New Clutch Kit in it currently with about 50 miles on it, so no worries in that area. It has Headers and dual exhaust, and sounds really good. It does have a few small exhaust leaks, at the exhaust donut, but nothing major, you can hear it a tiny bit, I am used to it, and don't really notice it anymore since I drive it a lot but it is there. A very small transmission leak or seepage, but again nothing of major concern does not leave any spots on the ground. The wheels and tires look very nice on the truck, a very nice fit for the complete look of it. The tires are in really nice shape. Overall a very solid running truck, in good shape mechanically.
