Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my 1966 Mustang Convertible with 289 V8 Engine, Automatic Transmission, Power Top, Power Steering, and Deluxe (Pony) Interior. I bought this car in 1984 when it had 82,045 miles and it has 90,748 miles now. After owning this car for 30 years, I have put less than 9,000 miles on it. I am the second owner and I have the original title and other documentation such as maintenance records and tag receipts as proof. This car was bought new in East Tennessee and is still here. I am a past member of the Mustang Club of America and am a Registered Judge of 1965 and 1966 Mustangs. I wanted to keep everything as stock as possible, but I have made some safety improvements such as Ford 11" disc brakes on the front and a duel power assist master cylinder. I have also added an AM / FM Stereo radio with cassette player and kick panel speakers. Everything else on the car is stock. The engine has been rebuilt with a mild Comp cam and Ford 4 barrel intake manifold and Ford 4 barrel carburetor. The transmission and power steering were also rebuilt and the front suspension was completely rebuilt with all new parts. Other minor improvements were made along with a new convertible top. The car was repainted the correct Arcadian Blue before I bought it so it is 30 + years old. The paint looks good at about 10 feet and it does have some imperfections such as dings, chips and some small blisters at the bottom of the front fenders as shown in the pictures. This is not a show car, but is a very nice dependable driver that you can drive anywhere and have fun on the way. There are no patch panels in this car, but three of the floor pans were professionally replaced just after I bought it. It appears that there was some previous damage to the right rear quarter panel behind the rear wheel before the car was repainted, no sheet metal was replaced so it must have been minor. Most of the chrome and stainless trim is original and it is in good to excellent condition. The top works good and looks good with no tares or rips and the top boot in good condition. This car is loaded with accessories so look closely at the pictures to see them. It has the correct '66 Mustang air conditioning system which works, but needs Freon 12. The interior is the deluxe (pony) interior installed since I bought the car. It has the wood grain dash bezel and glove box door and wood grain pistol grip inside door handles and wood grain steering wheel. I added a wood grain console and am including a vinyl covered hump hugger console with storage bin and two drink holders. This car also has GT fog lights and GT duel exhaust with chrome tail pipe trumpets and a stainless steel luggage rack. Also, included are five stock Ford chrome style steel wheels with trim rings and centers and new tires. Since I have owned this car, it has been garaged and covered. It has been in car shows, parades, and cruise-ins and also taken on trips. Show cars are great and I have one, but my advise is to buy a car you can drive and enjoy without fear of scratching it. I have a low reserve on this car that is very affordable, so bid with confidence. I will need $500.00 by PayPal or U.S. Postal Money Order within 3 days after the auction ends and the remainder within 7 days by wire transfer, certified bank check, or cash in hand. The car can not be shipped or delivered until all funds have cleared my bank. I am willing to help with loading on this end if needed. This car is being sold as is with no warranty. Good luck bidding.
