LExterior Color: OrangeInterior Color: BlackTitle: ClearVehicle Description 1968 SS 350 Camaro Fresh Restoration Hugger Orange w/Black Interior 4 Speed Condition: Weekend Show Car Quality Highlights A beautiful restoration on an SS 350 1968 Camaro in a striking color combination…..Hugger Orange with Black interior. The restoration has just been completed on an 88,000 mile car and presents as fresh. The engine is a NOM 350 mated to a rebuilt Muncie M20 4 speed transmission. Details A very nice restoration was recently completed the car and been kept in a climate controlled garage. The base coat/clear coat paint is nice and free of any chips, scratches or other imperfections. The bumpers are new as are all the emblems, grill and weather stripping. All the stainless window moldings have all been buffed and look like new. The bottom door edges are all sharp and rust free. The sheet metal is mostly original with small patch panels installed behind both rear wheels. It retains its original floors and trunk floor, reflecting the largely rust free condition of this car before restoration. The 350 engine (NOM) is fresh and runs very strong. The block number and engine code show it to be period correct (1970) with 4 bolt mains. The engine bay is highly detailed and its appearance is factory correct. It is fitted with long tube headers. All new plug wires, battery, hoses and belts have been added. The cowl induction hood is steel. The M20 4 speed has just been completely rebuilt along with a new clutch and pressure plate, It rides on steel rims with the poverty hubcaps and Firestone wide ovals that sets off the car’s aggressive looks. The interior is new…..vinyl, carpets, headliner, door panels, etc. There are no cracks in the dash or steering wheel. All the gauges (vintage Steward Warner) and speedometer work as does the lights, turn signals, horn, interior lights, wipers and heater controls. Mechanically it very sound, it starts, drives and handles well. It sounds great. Underneath is very nice and clean including new suspension components, shocks, gas tank, new brakes and lines and high end stainless exhaust system. The sub frame is excellent. The floors are all rust free and original. The glass is the original LOF and is very nice with only minor scratches. The windshield has been replaced. The trunk is detailed. It contains a new steel rimed wide oval spare tire with the original bumper jack and lug wrench. Overall, it presents as in showroom condition. Note…..without the original build sheet or window sticker, there is no way to guarantee this or any 68 Camaro to be a real SS. The VIN # in 1968 only shows a car to be a 6 or 8 cylinder and unlike the 69s, the cowl tag does not say either. The VIN on this car starts with 1247 showing it to be an 8 cylinder car. Gen I Camaro’s in this configuration are sought after muscle cars and in this color combination and the quality of restoration, it represents an excellent value for the asking price. A beautiful restoration on an SS 350 1968 Camaro in a striking color combination…..Hugger Orange with Black interior. The restoration has just been completed on an 88,000 mile car and presents as fresh. The engine is a NOM 350 mated to a rebuilt Muncie M20 4 speed transmission.
Details
A very nice restoration was recently completed the car and been kept in a climate controlled garage. The base coat/clear coat paint is nice and free of any chips, scratches or other imperfections. The bumpers are new as are all the emblems, grill and weather stripping.
All the stainless window moldings have all been buffed and look like new. The bottom door edges are all sharp and rust free. The sheet metal is mostly original with small patch panels installed behind both rear wheels. It retains its original floors and trunk floor, reflecting the largely rust free condition of this car before restoration.
The 350 engine (NOM) is fresh and runs very strong. The block number and engine code show it to be period correct (1970) with 4 bolt mains. The engine bay is highly detailed and its appearance is factory correct. It is fitted with long tube headers. All new plug wires, battery, hoses and belts have been added. The cowl induction hood is steel.
The M20 4 speed has just been completely rebuilt along with a new clutch and pressure plate, It rides on steel rims with the poverty hubcaps and Firestone wide ovals that sets off the car’s aggressive looks.
The interior is new…..vinyl, carpets, headliner, door panels, etc. There are no cracks in the dash or steering wheel. All the gauges (vintage Steward Warner) and speedometer work as does the lights, turn signals, horn, interior lights, wipers and heater controls.
Mechanically it very sound, it starts, drives and handles well. It sounds great. Underneath is very nice and clean including new suspension components, shocks, gas tank, new brakes and lines and high end stainless exhaust system. The sub frame is excellent. The floors are all rust free and original. The glass is the original LOF and is very nice with only minor scratches. The windshield has been replaced.
The trunk is detailed. It contains a new steel rimed wide oval spare tire with the original bumper jack and lug wrench. Overall, it presents as in showroom condition.
Note…..without the original build sheet or window sticker, there is no way to guarantee this or any 68 Camaro to be a real SS. The VIN # in 1968 only shows a car to be a 6 or 8 cylinder and unlike the 69s, the cowl tag does not say either. The VIN on this car starts with 1247 showing it to be an 8 cylinder car.
Gen I Camaro’s in this configuration are sought after muscle cars and in this color combination and the quality of restoration, it represents an excellent value for the asking price.
