Vehicle Detail

This is the restoration opportunity you've been waiting for. Here we have a matching numbers 1962 Porsche 356 Super 90 Coupe that has been off the road since 1972. Chassis number 118095 left the factory with S90 engine 804240 and transmission 51068 - and they are still bolted in the car. Delivered in Schwartz (Black) paint over Leder Rot (red leather) interior, this will be a stunning collector piece when restored. When finished, this will be a standout example of a vintage 356. As it sits, the interior presents like a time capsule. Coco mats are still on the floor. The leather seats have no tears and could be restored rather than recovered. You can tell the car was parked in a garage early in its life as you don't see such an intact interior on projects. If the new owner desires, the interior could be cleaned up and presented as a survivor interior. While the inside is amazing, the exterior leaves a bit to be desired. There has been a good deal of metal work done on the rust including a battery box, closing panels and outer body, but the guy doing the work was less than thorough and used LOTS of Bondo. Most of the work we've seen should be undone if this car is to see its true glory. There is still a substantial amount of rust repair needed. The floors themselves can probably be saved and are likely the original floors, but the longitudinals and surrounding metal need replacement. There are other areas, too, that will need attention. While it does need lots of work, the rarity and provenance this car offers will easily absorb the cost of a proper restoration. The car is currently in black primer so you can get an idea of what the black will look like. The engine does turn over by hand but has not been run. There are number of noteworthy things that will make this car a standout when restored: - Matching numbers engine and transmission - Rare black paint - Copy of factory Kardex included - Red leather - a special order upgrade for coupe - Original keys for ignition, glove box and transmission lock, including some spares - Records dating back to the mid-60s - Super 90 Camber Compensating bar still intact - Special Order items include leather seats, extended steering column, headrests and armrests - all listed on Kardex This is a very rare chance to bring an interesting example back to life. If you've been looking for a 356 to restore and you want something that is sure to appreciate and stand out in the crowd, this car is for you. Don't miss out! I am a 356 Registry member with an eBay Feedback Rating of 100%, so bid with confidence. Please ask any and all questions, they will be answered quickly and honestly.
