Too many vehicles, and time for an old friend to go. The Good- One owner, never wrecked or abused. All maintenance records and original paperwork included. I have been for the most part the only driver. Most maintenance work performed by Volkswagen, including a new motor at 42,000 miles. The motor was completely replaced because the timing belt broke a week after they had replaced it due to improper installation. Oil changed every 5000 miles, Recent work includes new front struts, new timing belt and pulleys, and windshield replaced. Tires are 100 % on the front, and about 95% on the rear. Recent state safety inspection. Gets a consistent 47-50 MPG on the road. A/C blows cold. Good dependable car that I would drive anywhere. No rust or major body damage, just normal bumps and bruises for a vehicle of this age.. The Bad- Being out in the elements for nearly 15 years has had its effects. The paint is faded on the roof and upper fenders. The interior- headliner has come loose, and the vinyl has loosened on both door panels. The driver's seat has one small tear where my cell has rubbed it, but the rear seats have never been used. Carpets are good. Some normal scratches and wear marks on the dash. There are a couple of mechanical issues- The fuel door opening cable has seized, a typical problem for this car. It is not an expensive part, but does take some effort to replace. The other issue is the check engine light (yellow) stays on. My code reader indicates something in the glow plug circuit, and since the glow plugs are good and it starts fine even in the coldest weather, I have not bothered with it. It has been that way for about 5 years, and does not affect use. Vehicle being offered as-is, with no warranty either expressed or implied. Potential buyers are welcome to make arrangements to inspect the vehicle in person before bidding. A no reserve auction with the starting price set at a reasonable place well below the NADA value of $2400-$2800. Any shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. Payment terms= $500.00 deposit via PayPal required within 48 hours of auction close. Payment in full via Certified Check or PayPal required before vehicle will be released to a shipper. Picking up in person encouraged, with payment being cash only. If picking up in person and not happy with the purchase, I will refund your deposit and you can walk away with no negative feedback. Pick-up or shipping must be accomplished within 14 days of auction end, unless agreed arrangements are made. Certified Checks must have a 7 day period to clear before the vehicle will be released.
