Up for auction is a clean 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe. This car recently came in on trade at our dealership and we were told by the previous owner that it was a two owner car! This classic has some neat options including automatic transmission, passenger side mirror, and windshield washers! The car appears to have had a repaint in the original Rangoon Red sometime in the 1980s and while it still shines up nicely and is presentable in a driver quality/cruise night setting, it is showing its age in a few spots. Many people would consider keeping the paint as it is because while it is showing some patina, it still looks great from five to ten feet! As far as the condition of the body goes, the metal all appears original and solid other than some minor blisters around a few spots on the rocker panels and rear wheel wells, however, these appear very minor and are even hard to see unless one gets very close to them. The underneath of the car appears very solid and original other than one small repair on the left front frame rail that appears to have been done many years ago. The trunk area is both dry and clean and the typical mustang spring shackle rust areas are solid! The trunk is well appointed with an original style trunk mat, quarter panel to trunk cardboard sections, spare tire with hold down, jack, and matching cover! The interior of the car appears very original and is in great shape! The interior is red carpet with red seats that are vinyl and exceptionally nice. The dashboard and headliner all are original looking and clean. The gauges all work except for the temp gauge. The old stereo has been upgraded to a modern cassette deck which works and the chrome work on the interior is nice and bright as well. The red on red look in this classic ’66 is just stunning and arguably one of the best color combinations! Under the hood is the tried and proven 200ci straight six cylinder that runs well and is backed by its original Ford C4 automatic transmission which shifts nice and tight through all the gears. The engine bay appears very original and still sports its Ford Blue paint on the original air cleaner cover and engine! The engine bay is very presentable for a local cruise night setting or local car show and looks great! The driveline of the car is very tight for a 50 year old car and I recently took the car down the road at 60mph and the car did not shake or vibrate and even stopped well considering it still sports its original manual drum brakes and steering! The owner of the car just had it Pennsylvania inspected before trading it in at our dealership. The glass is all nice other than minor patina appears all original! The only things that we can see which are not original are the set of aftermarket mustang aluminum rims with relatively new tires, the upgraded stereo, a nice aftermarket mustang steering wheel, and chrome mudflaps which look great! We have three original steel wheels with tires on them and four original 1966 hub caps which will go with the car.
