Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1962 Impala Hardtop Sport Coupe. It is not a Super Sport. I'm unsure of the mileage. Odometer reads 07162...could be 107162, could be 207162; I am unsure. It was missing the body plate when I bought it so I'm not sure of the options it had. It needs a complete restoration or can be used for a parts car. Besides the missing motor and tranny, the car is fairly complete. I will explain as much as I can in terms of the work that is needed, but you should either come and inspect it or have someone inspect it to be 100% certain of the condition. If you want to see a specific area of the car, let me know and I'll snap a pic and get it to you. Now on to the details: The body is in fair shape. Most of the paint has been taken down and there is a small amount of bondo work (mostly toward both rear quarters). Both rockers are dented up by the rear wheel wells, but that should be an easy pull. There is also a decent dent in the passenger front fender near the front. Rust wise, the trunk and driver side floor are solid. The rockers are solid as are the rear quarters. The lower front fenders and both rear wheel wells have rust. The passenger side also has rust, but I have a complete patch panel for the passenger side (not installed). The windows and roof are clear of rust. The frame is also rust free; however, the previous owner had hydraulics on it, so it does have a hairline crack in the front crossmember. I have a clean Canadian frame that I will throw in with the sale. All windows are there (passenger side window and mechanism are out of the car). Almost all of the chrome is there. It is beat up, but most of it is workable. The rear trim around the trunk is the most damaged. The trunk hinges are not attached as the torsion bars are missing. The hood hinges are there, but not bolted on. The chrome head light buckets are missing and the grill is pretty banged up. I have the front seat which has a makeshift recover on it. The backseat is just the skeleton, top and bottom. I have a good carpet kit for it. I do not have the original interior panels nor the headliner. I have some white vinyl interior panels that I will throw in if the auction exceeds $2500. The car is being sold AS-IS. This is an old car and it can have problems which are not apparent without a more detailed inspection and as such I may not be aware of the issues. Any prospective buyer is welcomed to make an appointment to come inspect a car in person prior to buying or arrange for someone else to come and check it out. Nonrefundable deposit of $500 due within 7 days of end of auction. Must be paid in full or arrangements made within 14 days. 30 days storage is included to give you plenty of time to arrange to get the vehicle. Storage on paid the car can be arranged in advance for $50 per month, but if a buyer can't be contacted or is unable to make suitable arrangements, $10 per day storage fees will be applied against the amount that's been paid on the car. I'm not unreasonable, but I can't be taken advantage of endlessly either. I appreciate you looking and if you have any questions, please ask. This is a no reserve auction, so bid away. Thanks.
