Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 1966 TR6R Triumph with only 6620 miles. Runs strong and starts easily. UK low handlebars and infamous parcel grid on the gas tank. Recent upgrades: Re-built cylinder head: valve job, springs, hard seats, guides, mushroom head valve adjuster, etc, performed by Rabers in San Jose California. Points ignition replaced with a Boyer Bransden MK IV transistorized unit plus new coils, plug wires and plugs. Zener diode replaced with a electronic regulator/rectifier. Clutch rebuilt using Norman Hyde 7 plate set and MAP Cycle ball bearing alloy pressure plate with a Barnett Teflon lined cable. The Amal Monoblock carburetor had a sticky slide so it has been replaced with a brand new Amal 30mm concentric carb. A "spin on" Norton style oil filter was added, hidden up behind the transmission so not to affect the original appearance ( see photo). Front forks refurbished: loose steering head ball bearings were replaced with Timken taper roller bearings, new fork seals and lower bronze bushings, new gaiters and chrome straps. Open cage greasy wheel bearings have been replaced with sealed bearings. New throttle, brake and speedo cables. New NJB Girling replica shock absorbers from the UK. Made by Norman Blakemore who worked for Girling back in the day. New "old stock" Doherty clutch and brake levers. I am the 3rd owner of this motorcycle. I have a registration card from the first owner and a sales receipt from him to the 2nd owner and the new registration card dated 1982. The second owner owned this bike for 27 years until I bought it in 2009. I have the original owners manual and a 1966 sales brochure of Triumph motorcycles that came with the bike. The 1966 black California license plate is the original plate as verified by the registration cards. The bad: The tires need to be replaced. The fork lock and tool kit is missing. There are a few scratches and nicks here and there and dents on the underside of the mufflers and it may mark its spot on your garage floor, but these defects are consistent with a 48 year old British motorcycle. I am not a dealer or a bike "flipper" I'm just an old guy who likes old bikes. There is no warranty implicit or implied. A PayPal deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of the auctions close. The remainder of the payment will be in the form of a wire transfer, bank certified check or cash in person only. I will be happy to help with shipping logistics but the buyer is responsible for all shipping expenses.
