Hello and Thanks for looking at my auction. 1966 Ford Mustang 2 Plus 2 Fastback GT. This is a true GT car with all the correct GT equipment from the factory.This car is in Excellent condition and was frame off restored in 2000 and has been driven very little since then only to car shows and events. Lets start with the body.All the panels and gaps line up beautifully as good as from the factory if not better. The hood,trunk and doors line up perfectly and close effortlessly. This car was restored using concourse guidelines and Mustang Club of America specifications. The front and rear bumpers show very well and are in Exc condition. The paint is show quality with very few blemishes or imperfections, all the glass is as new and very clear. The door data trim tag shows: BODY 63A FASTBACK COLOR T CANDY APPLE RED TRIM 26 STANDARD BLACK INTERIOR DATE 15A JANURARY 15 1966 DSO 35 LANSING MICHIGAN AXLE 1 3:00.1 TRANS 5 4 SPEED MANUAL This car has never had a color change and has the correct standard interior. How to tell its a true GT car. It has the correct factory punched holes in the radiator support for the fog lights,correct factory stamped hole for the foglight switch, correct factory dual exhaust hanger reinforcements under the rear seat, correct rear factory lower valance panel with dual trumpet exhaust, larger factory front sway bar, correct code factory manual steering box used only on GT cars and front disk brakes, everything is as it should be. This car runs and drives Excellent. Starts right up with just a bump of the key, drives down the road perfect with no rattles or squeks or noises of any kind except the beautiful sound of the 289 through the dual exhaust. The brakes work perfectly and have always been well maintained. The interior is in beautiful condition, the carpet, seat uphoulstery, console, dash, door panals, headliner, glovebox, steering wheel are all in Exc condition.I have a folder with over 40k in receipts for this car it has been very well taken care of. The motor is the original numbers matching 289 A code that came with the car.It was proffesionally rebuilt and has had thousands of dollars spent on it. This motor runs better than most you will find it is truely sorted out and dialed in. The engine compartment is highly detailed and looks amazing.The optional Shelby valve covers,intake and HI PO air cleaner were added in 1998 and came with a medallion that is on the glovebox door. The toploader 4 speed transmission has been rebuilt and shifts and performs Excellent. The rims are the deluxe styled steel with brand new BF Goodrich Redline tires with zero miles on them I also have BF Goodrich TA raised white letter radials if you would prefer them.The exhaust is in Exc condition with Flowmaster series 40 mufflers and tri y headers. I have the high performance 289 manifolds that come with the car also they are in great shape.The car does have an aftermarket radio in place of the stock AM radio.It has a nice spare tire with jack and the trunk is detailed with the correct mat and tire cover.This car also sits beautifully and has a wonderful stance,just right.When this car was restored it was done with lots of care and done right. It was an ongoing restoration over several years.A nice small aftermarket tach was added many years ago and works fine, it is where a rally pack would sit if equipped. All gauges work correctly also. I am not a dealer of any kind! I collect high quality cars and have decided to sell this prime example of a true factory GT Candy Apple Red Fastback.Everywhere you look there are 65-66 Fastbacks but how many are true GT cars with the matching numbers drivetrain? Keep this in mind when bidding.This is not a Shelby clone or a GT clone.
