Vehicle Detail

Here we have a car whose time has come! This is the 75bhp/115 lbs/torque 3-speed automatic diesel that still oozes class yet is very frugal on fuel on the highway and around town. The pillarless two-door hardtop is a pleasure to drive and is still an eye-catcher. The w123/c123 chassis is considered to be bulletproof with motors that last 500,000 miles. This is the first year of the c123 and it is in nice shape for the year. The sunroof button is a little sticky but it works and so do the front windows but the rear windows do not. The AC has never been tested so please assume that it does not work. The hood needs to be aligned at the adjustment points and the car has some scratches that can be seen in the pictures. The car has a few dings on the cowl by the windshield. the he car is in great shape at the jack points which is normally where the rust would form. The jackpoints were my main concern but since it is 35 years old assume that you will find rust somewhere. The car has a front caliper that is sticking one day but not the next so I am including four (4) used ATE calipers with used pads and clips for the new owner. The car needs a bushing for the parking mechanism so I have used the parking brake to be extra safe. The hood release handle broke but the cable still functions fine. The car is on 15" wheels. the car does not turn off with the key. This is very common on diesels and mercedes even built in a huge stop push-button that is presently being used. The interior rear benchseat looks as if it has never been used and the passenger seat is in excellent shape. The driver seat has the usual wear at the bolster from getting in and out of the car. The turn signals work if you manually use the lever but she needs a new hazard switch. The car comes with a vintage mercedes cassette radio with slider manual tuner that has not been tested. The car has 142000 miles on the odometer and the dash has the usual cracks. The following work has been performed recently: The v-belts for the power steering, AC, and alternator were all replaced. The pads were replaced front and rear. The oil with filter was changed as were both fuel filters and the air filter. I am selling this car because I have a 300ce-24 DOHC that I am keeping and I can only afford to keep one. This is a 35 year old car that will need the work that I have mentioned but is a rare little diesel that is a great starting point. The car will be included with a haynes w123 repair manual as well as a factory diesel mercedes manual and the vintage diesel fuel station locator from the early 80's. :) If you have any questions please ask by sending a message!
