Hello everyone! Up for grabs is one of rare 69' Scout 800 SC2 available in market. Let's start with information … General Information on the International Harvester Scout was one of the first production American civilian off-road sport utility vehicles. It was originally created as a competitor to the Jeep, and like that vehicle, early models featured fold-down windshields. The first generation Scout and second generation Scout II were produced as two-door vehicles with options of a half cab pickup truck or a removable full hard or soft top. Scouts were manufactured from 1961 to 1980 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The 1969 Model saw the introduction of the 800A, which replaced the 800. Improvements included more creature comfort options, a sightly different front end treatment, drivetrain upgrades ( heavier rear axle and quieter Dana 20 transfer case ) and the options of: 196 4-cylinder, 232 6-cylinder, 266 V8, or the 304 V8. The 800A could be ordered with the SportTop (A slanted sporty toy made of cavan or fiberglass ) and Aristocrat, Comanche, SR-2 and Sno-Star packages. Brief History of this 69' Scout: This bad girl was built in Fort Wayne, Indiana plant during the winter of 1968. It was ordered with SC-2 Package, 304 V8 & SportTop. It was then sold in June of 69' in Pacific Northwest and lived 95% of its life in California before making its way here to Maryland less than two years ago! - 1969 Scout 800 SC2- 304 V8 ( 5.0 ) - 4 Speed - 4x4 - New Rims ( M/T ) - New Tires ( 35x12.5 BFG )- New Suspension ( Rough Country ) - New Steering- New Bumper w/ 12K Winch ( Badlands Winch )- New 2 1/2 Dual Flowmaster Exhaust system - New Hydraulic Clutch- Interior Seats Upgraded - No Carpet Interior ( Easy clean - worry free )- Two Dual Gas Tanks ( 7 Gallon Each ) These new stuff has only 500 miles on them - so they are fresh done and wow I'm telling you it makes all different in world how this bad girl performance on road! The drivetrain have only 30K ORIGINAL ACTUAL MILES on them and the previous owner did full rebuild interior of the drivetrain less than 2 years ago ( due to siting most of time in the past ) and it shows! The undercarriage and drivetrain is 100% rust free and 100% function/ready to go anytime. The Body/Removable Top is 100% original to this Jeep … never had ANY kind of patch up job or repaint! All original and it shows as well. There is NO rust anywhere on body. Unfortunately for the removable top ( white ) is starting to showing surface rust here and there in places HOWEVER it's a easy fix if done right within next 2 - 3 years before it get worse/rust thru holes. The body have dings/dent and so forth from driving and normal wear. Only thing left to do with this Scout would be do the paint on it then you have SHOW winner Scout FOR SURE or just drive it the way it is like we are doing now. The pictures doesn't show dings/dent and paint job that it needs ( we don't own camera and only use iPhone ) so be sure to be aware of this. The best part … we've NEVER taken it off road, garage kept, and 100% driven by WOMAN so this is well taken care of. On top of this … all original miles, new parts, and original BODY/PAINT! This bad girl is available for viewing in person and you can ride in passenger seat for test driving.
