Vehicle Detail
~ 'SSR' I call this the Stealth Street Rod because that title really seems to fit... the only thing not stealth is the loud sound of those Flowmaster mufflers. If my intention was to keep it I would change those mufflers real quick. This car was reportedly an $80,000 build and it has the very best of everything in it. Technically it is a restomod because of the updated engine and other modern improvements. Although it is really gorgeous, this is not for me. I bought it because of its great appearance and its impressive engine but I did not drive it. After I had it shipped home here to Pa it only took a short drive for me to discover it goes way beyond my ability to handle it. I'm a wheelchair guy with severe paraplegia so you might understand why this thing scares the daylights out of me. This is a very special custom built car often called a RESTO-MOD to characterize a complete frame-off restoration using new and modernized parts as opposed to an antique restoration using original or replacement parts. I acquired this beauty at the Daytona 500 Speedway Spring Turkey Rod Car Show a couple months ago. The man who had this built died shortly after it was finished so he never got to run/ruin it. Be advised the "SSR" [stealth street rod] is in impeccably pristine condition. Underneath it really is clean enough to eat off of. The frame was black powder coated so it has a glossy sheen appearance... I understand powder coating requires very high heat to melt the powder and I have no idea how they got an oven large enough to do that but they did. The reason its so nice and clean is because the car only has about 800 miles on it since it was finished. As far as the upper appearance goes, as I said I bought it because I was attracted to the way it looks. It has one of those really good looking red/pearl candy apple $10,000 paint jobs and I can't find any imperfections or dings at all in it. Its the kind of car I'd be afraid to park in a lot anywhere for fear that some jerk would damage it by opening his door against it. OK, now here is a list all the major components... bear in mind that there are tons of other little things done to make this the build it is: 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Stealth Street Rod SSR 468 GM BIG BLOCK .
