Transmission has quit in our 2003 Ford. Vehicle will need to be towed. We bought the car new and have maintained it over its 205k miles. The 4.0 engine is as strong as ever and has been serviced every 6k miles with Fram Ultra oil filters and Mobile One Synthetic Oil. The valve cover gaskets were recently replaced and there are no leaks. It does not burn any oil at all. The vehicle was in a minor accident in 2010 damaging the passenger fender and front end. It was repaired and drives perfectly. There is some hail damage mainly on the hood. The radiator was replaced. There is a new water pump and front wheel bearings. Interior is in good shape. The rims and tires in the pictures will be replaced with 15" rims and older Yokohama tires. On May-20-14 at 18:12:25 PDT, seller added the following information: The tires and wheels are being replaced with 16-inch steel rims/used 235/70/R16 used tires. A spare tire will not be included with the vehicle. The transmission works well in low and reverse when the engine is cold, then progressively becomes worse as it reaches normal running temperatures. The transmission was serviced by Ford dealerships &other mechanics ("fluid replacement only") every 40 thousand miles. The transmission makes a whirly noise when the vehicle is running. The problem came on suddenly in the last 60 miles or so when the overdrive light began flashing. The vehicle was rarely used for towing (only a small utility trailer for less than a few hundred miles). The 4.0 V6 engine has been serviced with factory Ford spark plugs and wires every 60 thousand miles. The air filter has been replaced every other oil change ( every 12k miles).
