Vehicle Detail
Rare chance to own the coolest car you can own for this money. Divorce forces sale. Everywhere I go people take pictures and tell me how cool it is. I bought it with 13k miles on it. It has always been babied and was adult driven. I never raced it or pushed it hard, never took it to the track. Most of the mileage is highway, I used it quite a bit in my regional sales job, and I hate to put more miles on it, and need the cash. For a while my job was 38 miles one way, and I was putting a 100 miles a day on it, that lasted about a year and a half, so another reason miles are high. But is was all straight highway miles and I didn't care because I never planned on selling this car. First the good news. The paint overall is awesome, the interior just shows minor wear typical of the age. I always used zaino leather in a bottle, and all of their wash and wax products. The pioneer avic-z2 deck is awesome $2200,[includes blue tooth, nav, ipod, dvd 30gig hard drive,xm] if you like jazz there are a few hundred cd's on it already. The performance is amazing, it has the upgrade kit that pushes about 550hp at the crank and 460 at the wheels. The kit includes a double fuel pump, colder plugs, different intake, smaller pulley, and jdm engineering in new jersey did a online tune [if I can find the sct tuner will give to you as well]. JDM did a lot of work with saleens, the tune makes a big difference. The a column gauge package was a $1000 saleen option they don't have anymore, lights up at night in a blue/purple to match the dash.Car has the hid headlight option, 14 inch brakes option [just put on new stoptech brake pads and bought new zinc plated rotors from zeckhausen racing].I put new plugs in it about 45k miles for the heck of it. This is a one of one car in that color and in an automatic, I think they made 12 auto's in 2005 out of the 232 supercharged coupes, which is why I got it originally. For a car that has the performance of an exotic, it gets 27 on the highway, and 18 in town unless you have a heavy foot. I switched over to toyo proxes, and they don't have much wear on them. Added a push button start. Has the factory 20 inch saleen rims [$2500 option]...forgot to add it has the 3m clear shield on the front [$700], and the gas cap from saleen [$125], 14 inch race brakes option [$2000 option, some had Stoptech instead of Brembo, this one is stoptech]. The 550hp upgrade kit $2700 also included larger 39lb injectors, twin fuel hat. smaller pulley ,has rear 373 gearing, 12psi boost, safe tune Now the bad news, there is some minor rust around some of the fender bolts, just surface as far as I can tell, was going to clean it up myself but no time.maaco said a few hundred if they do it.The trunk lock stopped working a few months ago, no idea why.It opens by the pull cord inside, so must be the lock itself, just sprayed wd40 in it, will see if it goes back to normal. There is a kit to wire a release inside the console electronically on ebay for about 35 bucks. The front bumper has a small scrape on the bottom from a tow [flat tire, you have to get it towed if you get a bad flat, the spare is too small, I should have just taken it out of the trunk], and the left corner has some very slight spidering from when something flew up on the highway and bounced off it [you probably would not see it unless I showed you, but look at pics.It happened years ago, but never got worse so I ignored it. If I kept it, it is probably time to change the oil in the supercharger, for car I use mobil one and change often in crank case. Lastly there is a minor mark on the right side, I tried to show in the pics,[you really have to look for it] was told a dentless removal guy could take it out for 50, but I stopped noticing it after the first day.The car overall has been a dream to own, very trouble free, but again I baby it, always hand wash it. Oh the rims are starting to pit a little in the corners of the chrome they are old after all, they clean up pretty nice for a daily driver, if you wanted to show the car I was going to invest in new rims [no money now]. I have owned a ton of corvettes, mustangs, you name it, nothing has ever gotten the attention I get in this, every day. The auto transmission was rebuilt before I got it by ford, and I discovered you have to pull the shifter all the way down, and then slide up into drive. Otherwise it sometimes slips into second a tiny bit. I was told by one guy it was linkage, one said it was a solenoid, all I know is it is not an issue if you do it that way, and it has been fine for me for over 50k miles.I promise you that the trans is solid, not an issue, I drive this car everyday.Just need to shift that way and it is fine. I was going to put in a tci transmission one day, when I added long tube headers, but that dream is gone. Feel free to call me with any questions 757-803-8180, I would encourage you to see the car in person [if you do you will buy it] ...I am in myrtle beach, come down play golf and take it back. If you want to have a mechanic check it out, set it up, car runs great. I am pricing this below what I think it is worth, but would listen to an offer. I priced it based on it being a driver, but it is a rare car. I forgot it has the aluminum vented race hood from the factory, racecraft suspension, just look up on saleen to see all they put into the car, too much for me to list here.you will never see another auto in this color and this is the color they use for ads, and even a video game has this car in it. All of the things that are wrong you could fix in the hundreds, not the thousands fyi, I would do it if I had the cash, but leaving it to the next owner. I am going to list it on a few other sites if it doesn't start getting traction here, so I reserve the right to end it early. I think I have it priced about 3500 below what it is worth, which is more then fair, and enough for somebody to fix the small paint issues, and even put new rims on it. I will try to post more pics, it was a little dirty when I took these and my camera is not that great....plus somebody asked to show the leather seats so will try to add that. email me with an offer I just got an estimate to remove the fenders and remove the rust on the fender bolt areas for 300 , so I will be getting that done before the car is sold. It seemed to bother a few people. The bumper where it was spidered could be fixed easily...but I am leaving that to the next owner, because you don't really notice it unless you are looking for it, and catch it at the right angle.[which I did for the photo]....the car in person looks great, I just went to great lengths so nobody buying it would be surprised.
