Vehicle Detail

1965 Sunbeam Tiger Mk1 After great deliberation, I have decided to sell my 1965 Sunbeam Tiger. This car is number 2168 of the 3,763 Mk 1 Tigers produced. I do not drive the car regularly and it is a car that deserves a passionate owner. I have owned this wonderful car for 13 years and oversaw the complete ground up restoration completed in late 2004. Since that time the car has travelled less than 2000 miles and has been carefully garaged while not in operation. Virtually every part of the car was renovated or replaced and the restoration was guided by a TAC inspector and general Tiger expert. Thoughtful consideration was given to every detail and the ultimate result is one of the better Mk1’s that I have seen. Outlined below are some of the more critical details in the restoration: · Bare metal re-spray in original Rootes 86 green color · 2 stage base coat/clear coat finish · All chrome re-plated · Martha Christiansen Pro Prep full interior kit with carpets · New seat foams with belts · New Robbins soft top · All new glass · Beautiful burl dash panel · Rare LAT 72 Radio and speaker · Re-built gauges · All new wiring harnesses · Original wood steering wheel and hub restored · Steering column rebuilt with new bearings and seals · Tiger Tom reinforced front crossmember w/all new bushings · Dale’s Restoration front Wilwood disc brake kit · Restored brake booster w/new brake lines · 14 inch Panasport wheels w/Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires · Griffin Aluminum radiator with auxiliary cooling fan · David Kee re-built top loader transmission w/wide ratio gears · Centerforce Clutch · Rear end and axle re-built and re-sealed · Ford GT 40 302 engine with aluminum heads · CAT headers jet hot coated w/new exhaust system · MSD Electronic ignition · Holley 750 Carb · AC air cleaner signed by Carroll Shelby · STOA TAC certificate number 517 · In the TIROST registry I drove the car this past weekend on a 100 mile trip and it performed beautifully. The restoration has held up very well and the car shows nicely. There are some small items that a new owner may want to address but there is nothing that would prevent full enjoyment now. I have a number of photos from the restoration that will go with the car as well as the original generator and remote oil filter system. I urge any seriously interested party to inspect the car personally or make arrangements to have a qualified person see it on their behalf. I will answer any question I can and will happily assist in any shipping that is required at the new owner’s expense. The car is located near the port city of Mobile, Alabama so international shipping would not be difficult and international buyers are welcome.
