I have owned this Jeep for about 15 years now. I used it as a daily driver when I first bought it, and in the past 5 years I have been fixing it up with the intention of taking it up in the mountains and using it, but never seem to have the time. I regret to say I have never had it four wheeling, so I have decided to sell it rather than let it sit. The body is rust free with the exception of 2 spots at the rear next to the tailgate, I recently painted these spots in black primer to slow the speed of the rusting. When I first got the Jeep, the edges of the front fenders were tweaked and so I put remanufactured ones on along with a new windshield frame as it had rust. I later pulled the bird decal off the hood and it pulled some of the original paint with it and that is why the hood is in primer. The hood has never seen any damage. The doors are off a newer model as I wanted to relocate the mirrors. I built the 401 CID V8 about 5 years ago, and it has roughly 5,000 miles on it. It is bored .030 over, forged pistons, roller rockers, Hydraulic competition cam and a balanced crankshaft. Victor Junior intake, Edelbrock 4bbl Carb, and DUI Distributor and wires. Be Kool Hi capacity water pump, and a Moroso fan. Doug Thorley headers, dual Flo Master mufflers and 2.5" exhaust to the rear bumper. Runs excellent and gets better mileage than it did with the original 304 V8. Also installed a Center Force Clutch and stock 4 speed transmission, transfer case is also stock. I installed BDS 4"lift springs with military wraps and greasable shackles with urethane bushings as well as a 2" body lift using Daystar spacers. I had a full width Dana 44 rear end built with 4:56 gears, oversized drum brakes and an ARB locker installed shortly thereafter. I had a front axle cut down and built for the front also using 4:56 gears and an ARB locker. The front differential has oversized disk brakes. We installed an ARB compressor under the new Interstate battery in the original tray and location on the firewall. At the same time we upgraded the master cylinder/power brake booster in order to make it stop better. We raised all the steering componentry in order to improve the ground clearance as well. The Jeep has factory power steering. The wheels are Centerline Convo HT's with BFG Mud Terrain tires measuring 35"x12.50x15". The tires have about 3,000 miles on them. Flares are Bestop. The dash guages are original and work well. The speedometer has been recalibrated for the oversize tires. The seats, and console are Besttop products and are in great shape. I put a family style rollbar in the Jeep but have not upgraded the seat belts to be correct for the rollbar. I am including a new Sony AM/FM CD deck mounted in the dash but it is not wired, and there are no speakers as they were recently stolen. This is an adult owned Jeep and has been a part of my family for many years. It runs and drives excellent. I do not need to sell it so no brokers please, no lowballers, and in the true spirit of an auction listing do not ask for reserve.
