Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1970 Ford F-250 pick up. 78,000 original miles. 360 V8 with approx. 20,000 miles on a rebuild. Two barrel carb. C6 automatic transmission, power steering, factory heavy-duty power front disc brakes. The same family owned the truck until I recently purchased it. It was bought new as a chassis/cab and the utility bed was added immediately. Manual choke. Runs and drives well, but probably could stand for a carb. overhaul. Sometimes it is necessary to have one foot on the brake and one on the gas at stoplights. The transmission works correctly. Most of the gauges work. An aux. amp gauge has been added. The dash lights work, the wipers work, the heater works, turn signals work, the emergency flashers and the lighter work, the factory/dealer installed AM-FM stereo radio works.Oddly the utility bed manufacturer used '67 Ford Fairlane tail lights. The horn does not work. The windshield has a bullseye and a small crack. There is some rust in both doors, the left front fender, the utility bed and few other places. The floors and cab corners appear decent. The front end probably needs overhauled, but there is very little play in the steering. The truck still has all four original hub caps and the owner's manual.I originally purchased this truck to part it out, but because of the originality I decided to try and find a new home for it. It might make a cool shop truck. The truck is located in Salem,OR approx. one mile from Interstate 5. Please view the photos and ask any questions prior to bidding. I most likely have forgotten to mention some details. I will try to add any important info. I left out. A $50 non-refundable paypal deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end. Winning bidder has two weeks to pick up the vehicle unless other arrangements are made. If you have any questions or would like more photos, please email. Thanks for looking. On Apr-25-14 at 22:20:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Here are a few details not mentioned in the original description. The tires are good, but the front have more wear on the inside. The spare tire is good. The original jack is still under the hood, but the crank handle is missing from under the seat. The dome light works when either door is opened, or by turning the light switch. The windshield leaks on both sides and will get the floor wet. There may be rust above the windshield. The previous owner stored the truck under cover for the last 15 years or so. The engine is not the original, but as far as I know the rest of the drivetrain is original. There are two keys for the storage compartments in the bed. The keys are slightly different, but both seem to work. The brakes work well, but since the truck has sat periodically the brakes should be inspected. The paint is not original. The driver's door looks like it was replaced. There is an exhaust manifold gasket leak on the passenger side. Both outside mirrors are original. The rubber floor mat is cracked. Both windows roll up and down without issue. The ignition switch has been replaced, so the truck now has two keys.It is somewhat difficult to turn the ignition switch to the accessory position. The headliner has some peeling in the paint. It does not appear the truck was ever equipped with back-up lights. The tail lights only have one bulb socket per side ( stop light and turn signal ).Both plastic grille inserts are cracked. The passenger side grille insert had two broken sections that have been repaired with Popsicle sticks painted silver. It's just a 20-footer fix, I don't like seeing missing grille sections. The choke and carb. are finicky. When warmed-up all the way, and the choke set just right, the truck runs well and has good power. The truck has a clean Oregon title and is currently registered until the end of next month.
