This is an exceptionally nice car for a 1972 and being 42 years old. This is the 280 SEL model (extra long) it is not the SE model, which is more common but these SEL models are far and few between especially with this engine; and it comes with the desired 4.5 liter engine that is in great running condition. The odometer says 18,000 miles but I am sure it is more as I bought this car miles exempt because of its year, that is the way it comes. But from the condition and strength of the engine it is a low miles car. I would keep it but I have just found another collectible that I have my heart set on and with 5 cars in the driveway the wife says one of them has to go. Therefore, my loss is your gain because this car is in very good shape and clearly it came from a history of owners who took very good care of it. I will do my best to describe it here and there are many pictures which tell its story. The exterior on a scale of 1-10 is a solid 9.5, the car was repainted not too long ago in original tabacco brown in a gorgeous high gloss paint and I do not see any rust anywhere. The interior is also a good 9.5 with a very nice tan leather and the seats are extremely comfortable. If I were to repair anything on this car it would be the the two small cracks in the dash, and there is also some dash wood (about 4 inches) on the driver side that needs repair. The A/C is ice cold and the tires and battery are new. This engine is really great and the car runs straight and strong on the highway, these engines are amazing and that is why they are so desirable and called bullet proof. This is a very well cared for car in good condition that is getting more and more rare every day. Clearly a collectible that will just go up in value.
