For Sale is my first motorcycle, a 1988 Honda Shadow VT800C. This bike runs great, has 15660 miles and is a unique, one off year for the Honda Shadow. 1988 was the first year that trade tariffs were lifted for foreign motorcycle manufacturers. The Honda engineering team scrambled to make a bike bigger than a 750, and this was what they came up with in the first year they could sell heavy bikes in the USA. The powertrain is an 800cc V4....the engine is bulletproof. The bike is in good condition, engine and transmission run fabulously. The only immediate fix I would make is a rebuild of the front fork seals. The bike was painted a nice silver about ten years ago and I also had the seat re-upholstered with a nice black leather and took out a lot of the "puffy seat" stock look. Also, the Honda plate on the front forks is cracked (see pictures). The tires are original equipment, this is the first bike I ever owned and learned to ride on in the early 90s. She has always been kept inside of a garage and cleaned regularly. This is an awesome bike for an urban commuter in Chicago or for anyone who has a liking for rare manufacturing models of the Honda Shadow.
