Up for sale is this complete meticulously restored 1965 Mustang convertible. This car has been restored to the highest level of quality with the attention to detail and fitment of the parts to the smooth finish and perfection in paint on this car. This car runs, drives, and handles like a new car. Although it is a 50-year-old car, it has been completely overhauled from ground up. We have full documentation and photos of the entire restoration process. Equipped with a 289 engine rebuilt to have 330 hp with all new internals and external parts. Pushing this horsepower is a C-4 automatic transmission with dual exhaust and upgraded suspension including heavy-duty sway bars in the front and rear, and gas shocks for a stiffer ride. Following is a detailed list of items replaced NEW: DRIVETRAIN Rebuilt engine-289, crank, bearings, pistons, rings, oil pump, distributor, 4-v intake, elderbrock carb, starter, belts, power steering, radiator, water pump, hoses, solenoid, wiring, fuel pump, fuel tank and lines, battery, cables, transmission rebuilt, driveshaft, and full tune up kit. SUSPENSION complete front disc brake set up, power brakes and master cylinder with booster, brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, brake drums, complete rebuilt rear end, new rear wheel cylinders, new rear brakes, complete new dual exhaust, new front sway bar kit with bushings, new rear sway bar kit with bushings, upper and lower control arms with ball joints and bushings, rear leaf springs, shackles, front coils springs, and complete new power steering kit. INTERIOR New white convertible top, red convertible top boot, carpet, interior seat covers, radio with speakers, instrument bezel, all new interior chrome with door handles, wood grain steering wheel and all need switches in the dash EXTERIOR Stock steel wheels with new whitewall tires, all new chrome throughout, new grille, sport mirrors and all new lighting BODY and PAINT New fenders, hood, valances, trunk, quarter panels, doors, floors, torque boxes, trunk floor, and rear tail panel. The entire body of the car was taken to bare metal, then applied with a primer/Rust inhibitor throughout the whole metal. That was then sealed with four coats of 2K urethane primer which was block sanded to a smooth straight finish so that we can apply PPG basecoat and clearcoat to finalize the excellent paint work on this car. This car runs and drives like a new car, the paintwork is excellent, and all of the hinged parts open and close perfectly. This is a great car to get in and drive and cruise.
